We haven't been able to take our chances for 2 seasons so I'm definitely not basing my opinions on 1 game. Today just highlighted clearly all our long term problems.

We weren't unlucky. We just have woeful, substandard attackers who shouldn't be playing at this level.

Only good recruitment fixes this mess.

How people can be encouraged watching that is beyond me. It just exacerbated all my fears and concerns on how on earth we will score even close to enough goals.
I find it proper weird. Seen it in the bird app all night. Loads think we get a striker in and we are safe mid table. Even with a competent striker we are bottom 5.

I hate to say it, we’re all talking about a striker needing to score. We need midfielders that can score too. We need a team that is dangerous all around

Patterson, Onanna , doucoure , muppet, iwobi

None of these players can kick a ball cleanly … that’s almost half the outfield team

Thought we put a decent performance in today. If we had even a half decent striker we could have had it sewn up by half time. I'm all for giving players a chance but Maupay simply has nothing to offer us, nothing at all.

Thought the boys were very unlucky today. Created quite a few clear cut chances but just couldn’t take them. Add in the disallowed goal and it prob should have been a win.

I think despite the obvious flaws there are some positive signs. Maybe could have made the subs a bit earlier.

I think the squad will improve between now and the deadline. Yeah it should have been done before now but it’s wheeling and dealing all the way.

Easy to forget we’re starting from avoiding the drop on the last day….. I think we’re improved but we’ve obviously got to be better.
Goal was fine, why not allowed is beyond me. If we were clinical we would have won by three or four. See what the window brings

Unfortunately yes we did

We lost to a side who were woeful, we missed a ton of chances, and we didn't look like we can score goals.

That equals a relegation battle

Agreed .

The sign of a great side is playing badly and winning…

So playing “ well “ while at home and losing means? Exactly ….

If we were playing man city it would be different but Fulham will be closer to the bottom than the top

I think a good striker can get us over the 40 point mark and up a few places. That should be the aim this year and it should be achievable.

But its another season where we are totally unprepared so its hard to improve when you always throw away points every August by not giving the manager proper options.

We need to improve this year because we came 17th last year. Our squad is currently weaker than last year so I dont understand our strategy this summer

Lunatics were saying Doucoure should have passed for that chance he had in the first half. No. He should have just buried it.

He cannot kick a balll correctly. He had a aboit 9 touches to try and get in under control and then had poor contact with the ball. I can’t stand him

You can only flirt with relegation so many times before it bites you....

I`m worried, that is a game that was here for the taking and we have nothing from it and Villa got humped 5-1 which means we are in for a spanking at Villa Park live on SKY next Sunday....

Everton have only won 6 of our last 20 home games.... big big issues when laying at Goodison Park. What makes it worse is that our away record is absolutely apalling, 4 away wins in 2 full seasons :-

21/22
2 wins in 19 Premier League games

22/23
2 wins in 19 Premier League games

I almost wished we`d have gone down than go through this all over again, we honestly thought it would be different again if we stayed up. But here we are EXACTLY the same as last season, no more players even close to coming in, we will easily be bottom of the league after we`ve lost to Villa and Wolves because we can not score goals.
