Not hoofball exactly

Attacking with more direct urgency. Look to undo the defense with 3 passes instead of 10. Not being afraid to have a shot from outside the box. Playing a long pass if you think it's going to work

Just something

Insanity is repeating the same action and expecting a different reaction

SO HOOFBALL LAD YEAH?

GO AND SUPPORT UTD LAD MOYES LOVER

Tbf Mikey, our 2nd goal started from a Lukaku knock down from a goal kick.

Not to mention Mirallas's cross-field pass to Kone when he ran through and had his shot saved (after the sitter).

You could see the difference when Pienaar came on . Him and Baines combined well and we looked like we could create something from the wing instead of the usual 10 passes. That's the key thing for me we need another high quality winger even if Gerard stays some one who can play the ball and come inside

In conclusion

This wasn’t vintage stuff from the Blues but we just about had enough to beat a spirited Hull outfit. The Tigers are a competent side and much better equipped and prepared than a lot of sides in the division – certainly enough to be able to remain aloof of any relegation battle. For us, the main positives will be the displays of McCarthy and Mirallas who were both instrumental in getting us over the line here. Credit must go to Martinez too for his changes. On a day when his predecessors trademark reactive substitution edged him closer to the Cheadle Hulme dole office, Martinez proactive substitutions have now accrued us 4 points this season – more than last seasons entire haul.

Noticed this. We need someone to just go BANG INABIT rather than stand under it and wait to get jumped on.

I remember Richard Gough getting interviewed saying he never marked anyone from corners, he stayed free and just attacked it wherever it went, there seemed to be a real lack of authority from our centre halves yesterday

A quick query? A lot of commentators (including Lineker on MOTD) stated Hull have not conceded a League goal in some 3 hours and 56 mins of previous play...I thought they let in 2 against Newcastle?

Barry out! Phil Neville in!

Dear Evertonian fellows,
I have to face the music and admit that my very disparaging words about Barry was too exaggerated. I think it was a combination of a couple of mistakes by him on the pitch and a couple of tins market with 5,9 something which resulted in the post I then sent away. Today I'm remorseful. I think he's a very good player and he has an attitude that is important for the team. Maybe I have too high expectations on players like him? I’m proud to have him in the club. Sorry if I have been too provocative.

They did, that was 3 hours and 54 odd mins ago, they didnt conceed v villa/west ham,and last conceeded at away to newcastle in the 44th min, before we scored on 8 mins yesterday

In summation: a valuable 3 points against a no-easy beat opponent. We were lethargic (understandably, post International fixtures), and woeful in defending corners. But we got the job done. Onwards and upwards....and lets practice defence of opposition set plays!!!

I think teams will look at this game and start to push us high up the pitch early .. Shocking passing between the cb's I was bemused

To be honest, I think any opposition manager will have seen Jags and Distin this season and will look to put us under pressure at the back. They don't look comfortable when put under any pressure. Martinez is no fool though and he will be hoping to exploit teams who press us high up the pitch
