That is quite true.
But why keep on insisting playing the same way with no playmaker in the squad who is good enough?
As I said, he's tried to tweak this position and shoehorn a player into it where a specialist is required.

That has to be partly down to expense. But if I was buying Lukaku for so much I think I'd have people capable of supplying him, which is a valid criticism.

Next window he had better sort this out.

You could be right on this, Ossie has been missed more than even one could have imagined.
Might be right for this season but we'll never know really. Martinez's hope is that Ossie and/or Pienaar return soon to "play between the lines". He says we've really missed that type of player. Well if he really believes that he should've gone out and bought someone last August or this January because these 2 are getting on a bit now and won't last forever. And they can't get over injuries like they used to. Father time has caught up. Time to replace them, not to depend on them.

I hear what your saying but if its not working surely you change the systems and use the right players in their strongest positions.

TBH I'm also not too arsed....we're not going to get relegated and it's too late to achieve anything in the league. Sure, it would be nice to go into next season on a decent run to show some signs of progression, but if last season's anything to go off how you finish the season has zero indication of how good a team you'll be the following season.

It's all about the Europa League now.

I think Rodgers is the biggest phoney around but at the minute no one can argue that he's not out performing martinez. The perma tanned beaut has found a way to win after a tough start to the season, whereas our bob looks scared to try anything different

Rodgers has kept faith with the expensively assembled players he brought in during the summer. The one bit of nous displayed was making better use of Can and getting agent Johnson out of the team. That settles them down a lot.

He'll bollocks it up though.

Martinez: I dont think he's failing to do things different. It's only since tonight that people are bringing all this 'back to the tika Taka' stuff up...over the past few weeks most have been underlining that we've been able to go a bit more direct. So I cant make this criticism out.

To be fair to the tranny bother tho he found a system after much trying and I ts worked for them since Xmas. We've really no tried much all season except for knock it long to lukaku every now an again.

Were would you like him to go mate
Couldn't care less, never wanted him here in the first place always thought he was a bang average manager even after last season,he turned wigan into a mid table team under bruce to whipping boys and relegation donkeys every season until the they finally went down.

Who would you like as our new manager mate

You get my drift.
You may not have the answer but neither does our manager.
Its close your eyes and hope for the best
He's gone 4231, 433 and 343 in-game. He's played it short with a lot of defensive third passing; he's tried a more direct approach. He's gone with two defensive cms and then with one defensive and one attacking.

He really hasn't been churning out the same formation and style all season.

It's a lazy charge.

He's struggled to cope with the high expectations from last season and the extra competition in Europe. No doubt about that.

But he hasn't been standing on the line with his thumb up his arse.

It might be better if he did try standing on the touchline with his thumb up his arse.
If i was manager of this great squad and had won 2 games out of 18 i would realise i was doing a hell of a lot wrong.
He has parked the bus and gone a bit more direct a few times but on the whole it has been a blueprint of the 1st half today.
He should be trying out 2 proper wingers or 3 at the back with wing backs or two up top.
If its not working find a solution don't just bury your head and hide behind the flapping beard in goal.
