EVERTON V LEICESTER CITY: FA CUP 3RD ROUND (SAT 7 JANUARY 2017 3PM)

The board has no foresight to have the deals agreed and lined up ready to be done, RK has been quoted numerous times how we need reinforments since the last window yet we have just sat on our hands!

I am not sure we are allowed to talk to players still under contract or approach clubs pre-window. I don't know. Thought it was a breach of rules. I know tapping up goes on with agents. If we are allowed then we have been slow but if we are not allowed then we have acted quickly on one player and looks like another within the next few days. You only need one disagreement either with personal terms or transfer fee to add an extra few days on a deal.

Great that wasn't it.

Genuine, non-reactionary question: what exactly does Tom Davies bring to the team? Picks up the ball in neutral areas, turns around, gives it to someone else in a neutral area. He doesn't run, he's too scrawny to tackle hard, he doesn't look for incisive passes, doesn't create anything. He played one good pass out wide in the last minute, and that was his only real contribution all game.

I'm not being down on the lad, i just don't really get what he does.

If someone moved for the ball he wouldn't need to.

Barry was the weak link today and Del made a huge difference but should have started imo.

These were for the taking. Taking Valencia off was the worst idea. Take rom off to make a point. Gutted.

Baines was outstanding.

But we were playing at home and

lol

It's begun... I genuinely thought it'd be 6 weeks before we got posts like this.
I genuinely am looking for an answer. First time I've seen him other than snippets on MOTD, so I'm keen to learn if he's been better in other games, and what he brings.

Can 7th get us in Europe?

Not sure if accurate, but a spurs fan I works with reckons even 8th can be in Europe now. If they or manu will the EL, or an English team wins the CL, that would be 5 teams in the CL, 6th in EL, then depends on who wins the cups, but if teams already in top 6, then as low as 8th is in?

that must of been some bet you had going there for 42k

I do 2 £5 20 team acci's every weekend , just for fun.

espanyol (last night) Northampton (I had as a draw) Hartlepool , Sheffield utd (I had as a draw) stoke and Newcastle let me down on one. (that was around 900k)

on the other , Livingston and Wycombe were letting me down but come back to win. so just needed everton to beat Leicester and tomorrow Liverpool to beat Portsmouth. would have won £42365.63 to be precise.

He made a very incisive pass last game to release Lukaku for the third.

Once again, an Everton performance begs the question: Where's the first team's enthusiasm?
Do they hate what they do, or what? You would think they would be living the dream, doing what they love everyday. Instead, they act like it's some miserable task they are forced to do. "You mean we have to actually be arsed about this".
This is not rocket science. They are not doctors saving lives, they are freaking footballers who get paid a heck of a lot more than the best doctors in the world. And yet, they cannot be bothered to turn up for 90 minutes of one day, to do what is expected of them. Shameful disgrace!
Might as well have put the under 17s team out. Would have seen at least the enthusiasm of youth, if nothing else.

...reality check folks;

Disappointing - undoubtedly, it was a game we could win, it was a competition we could win.

Surprising - absolutely not. I posted this morning it would be a tight game. I posted this morning that whoever scores 2 will probably win. I thought Leicester would score, they were stronger than when we played them a few weeks ago. Folk come on here and forecast comfortable wins when we don't do comfortable wins. Our games are tight because we don't create, because we rarely trouble opposing goalies and don't score lots. The reality is we win tight games, we draw tight games and we lose tight games. We lost this tight game.

Until we have real quality in the top third this will always be the case. It's the way it is.

Sorry mate but I disagree. He got the ball, turned into space with it, tried to quicken up the play with quicker passes. Only him and Baines who were remotely arsed today, rest of them were absolutely dreadful.

Said to my son "what did you enjoy about today" he said "the hot dog at half time dad"

Sums up Everton that

Also, atmosphere was terrible today. After all the good news and positivity we have had this week all I heard was moaning.

Leicester defended brilliantly and we still lack that cutting edge that Del started to offer when he came on

never pick everton on anything, even if they won 2 games in a row,2 would be a good thing if we could actually win 2 in a row
