Del looked rusty. But beat his man when he got a chance. Hope he gets a start in the cup game.

Barkley and Stones good games for me. Thought Kone also did well, looks like a footballer this year.

I think 2-0 was a tad flattering. If the rom goal was given or that free kick goes in I think we would have been good hitting them on the break. They're a very good team and probably deserved it.

Overall pretty positive. Think we can go in to any of the upcoming games and produce a winning performance.
After watching in person at the old lady I totally agree with this. It wasn't our day. The score line dare i say it was false ;) haha

Baffles me why when the opposition are making a sub to kill time, Martinez waits until 2 minutes later make his. It's absolutely embarrassing. Del was then made to wait about 5 minutes before the ball went out again. No wonder we get hamstring injuries.

normally its at Southampton mate tbf

That's true. Least Southampton have had a decent home record last few seasons though. Meanwhile most weeks you can see teams taking points at WHL and we lie down for a good beating nearly every single time. Lamela will probably have his only good game in English football before he's sold. With Chelsea coming up we really need to beat Spurs if we want to do anything this season.

My only complaint was the Naismith sub - we needed a winger to stretch the game and give us an outlet, not another central attacking player. Big mistake on Martinez's part.

Yeah me too.
I love Naismith but his time at Everton suggests he plays through the centre or not at all.
Not gonna front like I know better than the manager but this one is a head scrathcher.

Can't really complain about the result, City are different class.

Totally agree.

Our players battled tirelessly and the first half I think we were a good match for a side who are in rich form and battered Chelsea 3-0 last week.

Second half we struggled and it was a shame to have to use one of our subs on the Galloway injury because we needed fresh blood out there.

Thought we were unlucky to be honest. Nothing less. Played reasonably well against a group that is just better. Played some really good football at times, more positive on it. Another day Rom's goal doesn't get disallowed and we may go onto win.

City were running the game down by keeping the ball in the corner at about 70 minutes in, which is itself a sign of respect that they didn't think we were there for the taking.

The scoreline was a little harsh, city looked a class act though it has to be said.
