Barry had good game. Best I've seen him in a while. Really need wingers today for some outlets. Naismith substitution was a poor safe idea. Made us more narrow and less threatening. We need to move on from this. Spurs is a massive game as they have been really poor so far.

Barry and Coleman 2nd half decent, that's really all. Sick of paying for flights and going to the games when we play like that, can't afford anymore. Screaming out for a forward with a decent first touch.

It's difficult against teams like City who have players like Silva but I do hope we jib off having to holding central midfielders at home.

I'd much rather see Cleverly play deeper and Mirallas play on the wing than have both Mccarthy and Barry in the centre.

I had high hopes once it became apparent that Toure couldn't be arsed, but Silva is just absurd.

Everton need to find a jarg version of him. Imagine having a player who can receive the ball under pressure in the final third and not panic.

We played well all game in general, but were up against a team that has gone up a level since last season. City controlled the first 20 mins of the 1st half and the first 10 mins of the 2nd half....the rest we were very much in it. Everyone put in a shift especially Coleman, Barry, Rom and Cleverley. McCarthy looked anonymous but he had the task of keeping YaYa quiet, which in truth he did a fair job of. Silva was exceptional, almost Bergkamp-esque which is a huge compliment....you simply have to applaud that some times and say what a fantastic game he had....he controlled it.
Biggest plus for me today was Barkleys contribution....looks like he's learned a few harsh lessons last season and hopefully will reach his potential as we all expected.

I sat and watched a recording of the game after I came home and my suspicions were confirmed.

For all City are a far better team than us, half their attacks were coming about because our players passed the ball to them around the halfway line or were caught in possession in the general vicinity of our box.

Everton made it doubly hard for themselves today.

There was one incident where Jags picked up the ball near our own 18 yard line, raced up the field with it and gave it straight to one of their players who promptly kicked it forward leaving us a man diwn at the back for the counter attack :(
