Regardless of injuries, we know the glaring holes in this squad.

Have nothing up front outside of Dom and Richy (as actual forwards).

Have very little creativity without James.

Have no depth at left-back that Carlo trusts. Showed tonight how much we missed an attacking threat (not that Godfrey has played badly).

Have very little dynamism in midfield without Doucoure/Allan. We obviously know about right-back.

We need to address at least two of those issues in the next month.

There are no excuses. None. It should have been done at the end of the summer window and wasn't - that's on the recruitment team.

We're running Dom into the ground and we'll be lucky if Richarlison can feature in either of the next two matches.

We have four games in the space of 12 days now. And we didn't plan for them.

The appointment of Ancelotti suggests we mean business. The player recruitment really doesn’t.

Top 4 at Christmas though eh. Not so bad.

As much as he’s garbage there were moments better players in better positions let us down.
Defo. The aim of my post was not to single Tom out for criticism. I spent most of the match swearing at the extensive array of poor passes from Gomes, Siggurdson, Iwobi, Bernard etc. That moment of Tom's literally made me laugh out loud but he didn't actually give it directly to a Utd player and help set up a counter attack.

The money will be there if needed.

I feel that Brands and his team have not had enough conviction and the Kean loan still massively frustrates me.

The result isn't really on him or anybody tonight other than us not having enough on the day and naff scheduling - it'll cost every team (bar the one that moans the loudest).

Just in general, it's clear what we need and there should be strides to get those players in quickly and decisively. There isn't an excuse not to do business when the table is so congested.
