Pleased with the way the players remained positive throughout the game, and even though we had two disallowed goals we still kept at it and deserved the 2nd goal and should have gone on to win all three points.
When you play with a lot of players ahead of the ball you have to make sure you don't give it away, it happened a few times tonight and cost us their first equaliser.

just one of those nights. Had a feeling all night Newcastle would undeservedly get something out of it and they did.

We didn't get any luck today, 2 good goals disallowed and jelavic injured. But over the course of a season you would hope that it is going to even out. Those matches hurt and stick in the throat. But everyone remembers when it go's against you rather than matches like Blackburn away last ear.

Most important thing is that we are playing well. We are due a bucket load of luck in one match. Who knows it might be the derby.

mate it's never evened itself out when it comes to us. blackburn had two pens and missed them both, it was a lucky win, but they weren't robbed of it like we were tonight. i would take the pain of tonight if we had reverse luck in the derby but there is not a cat in hells chance that would happen to us.

agree with you about the first paragraph. after about half an hour i could sence we would miss bundles of chances and they would get something out of the game.

i like a lot of others, immediately thought of villa when anichebe scored, we had had too much bad luck for us to still win. lets hope we play like the first half frequently this season, europe will be assured if we do. mirallas looked very dangerous if a bit greedy, but you don't win the raffle if you don't buy the ticket

I know but he got the assist for Baines and worked the ball well in the first half - plus if Pienaar has one fault it's actually not shooting enough! Faded in the second as did a few players, but my issue with Mirallas is that he's an exciting prospect but we were told he was a selfish player before he arrived and, if he is to be that selfish, he has to back it up with goals on a regular basis, otherwise he'll be a frustrating liability.

I just think he could have afforded to look up and acknowledge the options around him rather than take the shot on every time.

He did put in a few crosses though mate. Didn't always look to shoot.

And I think he has a good shot too. He definitely needs to work at being a bit less selfish but I don't think it's that much of a problem.

Bolton had a perfectly good goal against us not given the year they got relegated. We would have gone down had it been given. Some you win, some you lose, it's not fair but it's what we have.....

A view with a fume! Even clearer than the other one.

Ok so I was watching the game in Belushis in Berlin, the only person in a packed bar who gave a ****.

The refereeing was absolutely horrendous. We scored 4 legit goals, yet the score only says 2. FIFA won't introduce goal line technology because they'll obviously stop getting paid off by clubs to ensure biased refereeing continues. What a joke.

Baines and Peanuts were great tonight, their partnership is just getting better. I thought Mirallas was pretty good, he showed a lot of promise, but just needs to work on some really simple things and he'll be a top player.

What I really want to rant about is our diabolical defense and Phil Neville. If you wanted a good defensive mid, put Heitinga in...even better put Heitinga in central defense where he was our player of the year. Wow, I can't believe Neville played the entire 90 minutes, what an absolute Joke.

Anichebe has continued to prove he is no where near as crap as everyone makes him out to be. I thought last season he played pretty well, and he showed that he can do it again this season. He got into good positions and showed a lot of determination, kudos to big vic...you're not useless to me anymore.

Coleman definitely deserved a run out. When they pushed to a 4-3-3, we should have got him on and tried to play the counter, instead we killed our own attacks in the first half. I don't know, that was just a sickening game to watch knowing you should have legitimately won if it wasn't for refs.

He took his goal well i agree, but for such a powerful build i expect more. I want blood and thunder, passion, would you seriously buy him if you were another manager? Baines takes a free kick, and you feel it's gonna go in. Certain players get the ball and you feel it's gonna go knowhere. The guy might get sharper but would you make him a first choice striker?

I thought Mirallas was OK but wildly selfish. He could have laid off for Jelavic for what would have basically been a definite goal in the first half, and once or twice for Osman and Fellaini too but he took the shot on instead - only one of which having a chance at troubling the net.

He needs to look up and get that out of his game as it cost us tonight.

Don't worry I'm sure moyes will have that out of him very quickly!back on the bench Saturday I'd imagine.

Anichebe has potential, IF we play football like in the first half when he's on the pitch. He comes on and we automatically play long ball, so all he can do is 'put himself about' and be a physical presence (albeit one who falls over a lot and doesn't win headers). Pass it to feet and he's lethal, unfortunately it rarely happens, but when it does he scores!
