Moyes made a big error imo tonight. When early in the first half they started to win the central midfield battle, Ossy and Nev were shot, and were getting beat to every 2nd and even 1st ball. THAT was the time to bring Fellaini back into his natural position. We had Naismith, Mirrallas, Victor, even Coleman as attackers, and we could have built on the basis of Fellaini in the middle.

I do hope he see's that soon, as Newcastle in the 2nd half made a much better job than anyone at stopping Fellaini.

It was the same at WBA mate; they stopped Felli and it stopped us. All teams will now double up on Felli ad its up to Moyes to change this.

IMO the game changed when Vic came on, there formation change gave them a bit more, but we lost momentum and movement with Vic up front; he just stands there and it reminded me so much of the start of last season and why we struggle. Jelavic's movement and link up play brings the entire team forward, he pulls defenders left and right; once he went off it all stopped and we became very one dimensional

You are right mate, I would have much rather seen Mirrallas or Naismith uptop, than Vic.......I know he scord, but he does that, looks appauling, and pops up with one.

Mirallas was brilliant imo. So excited at the prospect of him attacking from one wing and Pienaar and Baines down the other, with Jelavic in the middle and Fellaini supporting.

By the way, I don't like him and probably never will, but I was made up for Victor last night, his goal was fantastic - what a first touch and finish, and that celebration spoke volumes for me. Well done son.

We won that game 4-2. Absolutely won it.

Mad at the officiating and we should be. We should have 3 points.

Well that was sickening at the end. Looked like world beaters first half and then let them back into it in the second. Sh*t following from them like. 1400 tops.

Positives are we played some awesome stuff and mirallas looks quality. Not even arsed if he's selfish. We are on a different level to them. All we need to do to consolidate that is NOT PLAY NEVILLE IN MIDFIELD FFS MOYES. We'd have taken the piss had gibson played in Nev's slot imo.

Neville needs taking out by somebody in training. Literally anybody able to play central midfield and selected behind him in the pecking order should be automatically considering an alternative career away from football. It's criminal by the manager to play Phil Neville in the XI, never mind in the midfield anchoring role. He is finished, it's a dereliction of duty by Moyes, literally taking the piss out of the fans who pay 45 quid a ticket to turn up to the game.

Heitinga has to play against Swansea, but there again that's our transfer budget for next season so probably best to make him want to leave.

I can understand in theory why Moyes insists on playing Neville in center mid. He brings discipline and organisation. But these 2 things become completely null and void when the players legs have gone, Fellaini needs to start deeper on Saturday and give Mirallas, Pienaar and Naismith/Coleman license to get up and support whoever is up front.

2 things.

1. Pardew changed his side around at halftime and it worked Moyes took to long to figure out how to get hold of the game again. Moyes was right to say we should have put the lid on the game in the 1st half put I thought he dithered in his delibriations of what to do after half time. He could have took phill off and stuck Johnny on to sure up the middle.

2. We looked too soft right down the middle second half and Moyes needs to sort that out before sat as we will be without Gibson for a few games.

Nobody told me we were playing Villa, like. We didn't deserve that. That should have been 3 points, full stop.

Exactly my thoughts. We banished the Villa hoodoo with aplomb only to acquire a Geordie version of the same terrible unlucky curse. I thought defensively we were poor but going forward we were fantastic: Baines, Pienaar, Jelavic, Mirallas, Osman were quality first half. Anichebe took his goal well and Naismith looks a threat.
Neville gave his all but was caught out far too easily. Osman's sloppy play was compounded by Howard's poor attempt at a save, and Distin was frankly disastrous. Heitinga needs to be in next game.
Either way, let's face it, we were robbed by a podgy [Poor language removed] of a linesman who disallowed 2 clear goals.

Lads, just popped in here to say a BIG THANKS for last night.

Class act, class club, class fans, class city.

YNWA

No problem mate. It was never gonna go any other way. Everton fans have never ever sung a song about Hillsborough. I am adamant anything you hear to the contrary is just bull**** rumours.

(Heysel, on the other hand, is another matter...)

what a kick into the teeth that was an up and down performance where i thought we were on top but never killed the game off and paid for it .............

yes i was disgusted at the 2 decisions that went against us but both were split second calls with fellis been harder to call ( a human trait we all have) what annoyed me was that BOTH CB switched off so quickly and easily after we scored what should have been a winner and it wasnt the 1st time tyhat either of them done that in the match......

i think if we are going to continue our "good start" this need to be addressed because we can get through a game with both NEV n OSSIE in the middle it just wont be easy on the eye r nerves but you will not get away the mistakes we are making at the back so far this season at this level
