These below sum us and Koeman up.

The Southampton Manager;
"Josh Sims - for his first Premier League game, I guess it's OK! I am happy for him and the team. He showed very good progress with the under-23s and I thought it would be a good opportunity for him.

"I think It's Important to respect the academy here and when we have problems with injuries it's fantastic to be able to start players from the academy."

The Everton Manager;
"I wasn't aware of Josh Sims when I was here and he is not my problem - I work for Everton, not Southampton."...like he left 3 yrs. ago ffs.

Yet some how we're still 7th??

Not so, Toff.

"Panic" is a natural instinct in all animals and it is how we sense danger and keep ourselves alive.

Herd animals in the wild react to danger with a "fight or flight" attitude.

What we need right now is controlled panic......if such a thing is not an oxymoron and hopefully my old chum @deipnosophist will better inform us :).

Sense the danger now before we become isolated and easy prey for the predators circling us.

And act upon it right away ;)

We can't run away from it so we must roll up our sleeves and fight :mad:

He needs to try different formations with the seasoned pros.....in the absence of new players for at least six weeks to two months he might consider fetching Davies or Holgate into the team.

I seem to recall Newcastle being in a comfortable position last season before the rot set in.

Palace fell from something like 6th at Christmas the season before and just about escaped relegation in the end... @Alan Whittle might confirm that.

I feel like one of those Sandwich Board men, Toff.........."Repent, the end is nigh.....repent before it is too late" :(

(you likely never heard of a Sandwich Board man, Toff.....ask yer grandad :pint2:)
your juxtaposing of apparent contradictions indeed constitutes an oxymoron my friend.

...as does the thundering silence which visits me post watching your typical Everton performance

Because at the moment he offers nothing. He loses the ball and it comes straight back. This infuriates the grafters and because he doe not move the players have stopped passing to him. That is Lukaku fault. he needs a time on the sidelines.
Grafters, really????? Ffs

just one of those days, lads

:coffee:

commentator: "Everton have only outran one team all season...that was Sunderland"
These belters mascarading as professional footballers, are really taking the pis., we were brainwashed by ourselves last season, that the lack of effort, never mind the lack of quality was all down to Roberto losing the dressing room, the simple fact is they are a pathetic, massively overhyped and passionless bunch of losers !

Absolutely. So people will need patience. Something which isn't the average GOT posters skill!

I would find it easier to be patient if the manager showed a bit of passion, it all starts with him and his attitude sucks quite frankly.

I think the Ladies team would do better.

I said yesterday on here that I will back Koeman until this time next year and I will, but if there is no significant change then I think his position should seriously be questioned.
The first half yesterday when we were abysmal I didn't see him get out of his chair once to start barking instructions to the players but instead just writing things down on his note pad, sorry but rectifying things at half time is too late.
Managers all have different styles but I like Peps, Klopps, Conte, Pochettino, Mourinho style were they are constantly barking orders during the game and get animated. Its no coincidence the managers I've mentioned are the ones who get the best out of their players..
