Turgid display devoid of confidence and freshness, as I said before the match Davies should be starting in a three with Gana and Barry drop Barkley for a bit. Valencia on the right. We badly need a new Centre back partner for Williams, in the meantime Mori will have to come in.

Good question.
Maybe a PSG. Who may think they should strike early. Before one of the rich prem clubs go for him?
That's they only team for me,top teams in Spain won't Italians cannot afford him,Bayern Munich won't and I don't think any other German team can afford him that leaves english teams pep at city wouldn't touch him arsenal cant see it its doubtful mourinho would, that leaves spurs maybe.

We were Rubbish today no fight in the team today no spirit our passing was terrible defending was awful our back four were all over the place Gareth Barry, Jageilka, can go midfielders were just bullied in midfield and Lukaku was very lazy today
Roll on January for new signings and new blood this team needs one hell of a shake up

Just got back from the game. Enjoyed attending my first game this season regardless of the result...still magical to follow Everton away...went to my first away with my Dad in 1963....

I do not recognise the BBC summary that states that we produced plenty of chances to rescue the game. I thought the best side won. Well played Southampton.

Am really disappointed with some of the individual performances....

Stek was good, made one great save but not sure where he was for the goal.
Baines looks unfit to me.
Jags low on confidence obviously but still made at least two crucial interventions that kept us in the game.
Williams was solid enough if unspectacular. (good sign in a centre back...Stones could have learned from him)
Coleman still has the passion for the shirt....needs to play in a team that is cohesive for his talent to really show. There were flashes from him tonight but he was drowned by the mediocrity around him.
Barry was a strange contrast... one moment making one of his oh-so-crucial interceptions and the next giving the ball away...infuriating.
Gueye was good I thought...doesn't panic on the ball. Some of the others seems to be scared of receiving it.
Barkley had one of his lazy days. One flash of brilliance in the first half is nowhere near enough at this level, Ross. No tracking back when we lost the ball. Walking around the pitch when he should have been demanding the ball and running himself ragged for the jersey.
Lukaku showed no urgency almost throughout. Spends most of his time pointing and showing petulance when it's not placed in exactly the right spot......start playing for the team, Rom
Lennon is barely good enough at this level, sorry to say. Does some tracking back but his positional sense isn't in synch with his colleagues.

And Bolasie......was the most infuriating of all. Walking when he should have been running. When he should have been striving to give the out ball for Ross or Barry or whomever, he was static.....like a bloody statue. No wonder we hardly threatened. Southampton must have found us quite easy to defend against. He annoyed me more than all the others, I'm afraid.

Enner didnt have much chance to impress. Ditto Kev. And Geri showed that he still has not matured into the player at which his talent hints. Screaming for a free kick when he gets tackled on the edge of the box....just grow up lad and use your skill to beat the man....you're easily gifted enough to do it. Just focus on the task instead of showing off or complaining.

All of which worries me greatly. I would have hoped that RK would have been drumming into Ross, Rom and Yann in particular what their duties are when we do not have the ball. But I see no evidence of that on the pitch at the weekend. So what have they been practicing??

Despite all that doom and gloom. Loved being amongst so many blues so far from home. Pity we didn't have much to shout about.

I suspect more of our core support are starting to get the message.

Manager doesn't care.
Players don't care
