I wonder if our players are just going through a 'when is he getting fired' mode. They play good and hard for a new gaffer then he's fired
after his instructions/substituions/rotation/practices become confusing/annoying/lackluckster and they feel the manager has checked
out so they check out, wait for the new one, play to impress, dip in form, managers thinks 'these guys will get me fired' players
think 'this guy will cost me international spots and they begin to manage and play with a wary eye on each other and not the opponent?

I understand everyone is upset. Of course we are.

But don’t make out that the addition of Ndiaye, Iroegbunham, Lindstrom, O’Brien, Broja and Mangala - for the loss of Onana, Godfrey, Dobbin and Maupay - hasn’t improved us.
Yes, some of us are forgetting this.

Despite our abysmal form, there are some signs of encouragement.

Why did he play a full strength team against Doncaster in the first round with a fully loaded bench.
Then put out that team last night with nothing on the bench other than 3 keepers.

When we desperately need a win to stop the rot.

Either he wants to do well OR uses it for getting minutes in legs and trying out kids / new signings and Dwight McShte in every position on the pitch.

Everything he does now is mental.

It's bad when my mate who is a season ticket holder for Wigan who don't even like footy said Young wouldn't get a game for them...
Young is completely finished. Should never play a game for us again but he will.

You can somewhat excuse it all if we get results but when we’re losing constantly, the football is terrible and we’re wheeling out Ashley Young then it really is grim.

He never got started. He was boss at dives before VAR. Everton allowed us to keep players like Young. We deserve everything we get for even attempting to masquerade as a football team.

He didn't want to win that last night. If he did, he would have brought Pickford on for the shoot-out.

Can only imagine he's thinking we need to "concentrate on the league".

And the reason why need to concentrate on the league may.. just may have something to do with back to back weekends letting a 2 - 0 advantage go. Which he has contributed to.

We were always going to struggle at Spurs and at Villa.

We will have a better idea of the survival prospects of our great club by the end of this month.

After years of under-investment in terms of transfers and after years of selling our best players.... from Richarlison to Onana.... we simply don't have the same level of quality of 90% of the Premier League clubs. But I still think we will survive.

All we, as fans, can do.... is get behind our players and hope they find some confidence. The most worrying is... is that the lads all seem to be trying their best.
We did not struggle we capitulated with a manager who constant mantra about his brand of football is well disciplined and hard to beat. Everton are not remotely either of these now.

Dwight McShite 😂. I love it. I’m going to start using that one.

I really don't. Boycott is the only worthy response. Our fans know what they are getting into when they turn up at Goodison now: a steaming pile of excrement.
I can confirm it was not a cold night, however it was a steaming pile of excrement. I liken Everton to an old failing engine, occasionally Sparks’s into life but generally performs very poorly, and yet I still keep getting drawn back, human life is strange.

If that’s the case, then they’re worse than the manager. They get paid to play for Everton, not a certain manager.
