Lee Mason tried his best to out do Andre Marriner in the incompetent officiating sweepstakes. He may have done it.

If he was consistent and got either two or three right, we come away with at least a point.

Valid points but does not excuse poor play on our part. In a game the players have to get on with it and play. To say if 1 or 2 of those decisions had been different we get a point, what kind of defeatist talk is that. It is 3 points the team should be going out to win of which in the last games little evidence of that.

You call him a myth? He's played in his natural position once this season, and ran the show. Have a think lad. I'm not arsed about Raheem in the slightest. You're right, Osman would have been slaughtered for that but it still wouldn't have been his natural position. It's difficult to find space when you're in a role that's not natural to you, you naturally go where you feel comfortable, which completely ruins him defensively and makes Baines look average.

Not Barkley's fault, he doesn't pick himself out there. It's the manager who refuses to let him play central midfield and persists with Barry who looks about 5 million years old!

What is his natural position, pray tell? "Arguably" Barkley has had just 2 good performances this season; both against teams who allowed our midfield acres of space. When things get tight the boy can't cope; don't believe the hype, in fact Ross is grossly overrated.

Out there AGAIN today i saw lazy players who refused to pass, when they did pass they couldn't pass five yards, players refused to move into space meaning we had no movement and no attack. Players were second to every ball, players were lazy in picking up stoke players, players looked like they couldn't be bothered throughout.

If you think Martinez can control that on the sideline then you play too much fifa, there's only so much he can do, golden boy Barkley was a disgrace today!

Stoke players would've run through brick walls to get to that ball, our players at times wouldn't move five yards.

Blame Martinez for the slow build up etc, but those players didn't give a damn today and haven't for a long time (except the usual good guys like naismith)

Summary from yesterday

1) first half we played some good stuff
2) heads went down after their goal
3) never looked like scoring 2nd half
4) played a lot worse and won
5) Barkley in the wing is pointless
6) corners were good

The result was disappointing but signs of improvement yesterday

Haven't heard Goodison boo like that for a while.

People even stayed behind to boo.

The opposition closed us down so fast the second we got the ball.

We on the other hand did the exact opposite.

I bet Stoke were pissing themselves in the changing rooms after that. We gave them acres and did pretty much nothing for most of the game.

We must have some injured players still playing because the gulf between us and them yesterday was scary. We could have played 180 minutes and not scored.

I know what you mean, at least there was a dogged desire there at games in those seasons. Now we're a pushover. Teams need to press us and we crumble. I'm not saying I want Moyes back by the by, just we need and deserve better
