We have only won 1 game in the last 7 (all competitions)

Scored 5 conceded 10

It was Stoke's first clean sheet in 11 games

Southampton lost the previous 6 games then beat us

Newcastle have lost there last 4 games then play us next

Glad Hull won today as they had not won in there previous 10 games

I would absolutely drop Barkley on Sunday, he has not been good enough recently and it kills me to say that because the lad is the next thing coming.

Can't moan this week about Lukaku, he has not got the service and when he got the service he got the ball on target, fair enough it was mainly from outside the area, not his fault.

Newcastle team: Joel, Coleman, Jagielka/Alcaraz, Stones, Baines, McCarthy, Besic, Mirallas, Naisy, McGeady, Lukaku. To play the way we want to you have to have balance, this is achieved playing two actual wingers (See Wolfsburg, our best performance of the season.)

It needs addressing this though whatever it is. It needs to be stopped sooner rather than later before this gets a bit ugly. We won't get relegated like some extremists were saying during and after the game, we're too good for that. My opinion is that we've walked on to the pitch thinking we're too good, fight and bottle has gone. Hopefully it comes back, the mix of steel and flair from last season would be brilliant.

Barkley is far from the biggest problem we have. The loss of form of players like Coleman and Lukaku is far more worrying.

I think the form of Barkley is major problem because we seemingly go how he goes. Once again, Lukakus is not a problem for this side, as I mentioned its the service to him thats the problem. Tell us how many shot he had inside the 18 yard box today ? One maybe, how many outside from 20 yards + when he's got nowhere to go ? 2/3. When you pay 28 million quid for a striker and don't give him service inside the 18 yard box, you have to worry about the service, he's in the positions like.

Let's be perfectly honest, for the past few weeks if not most of the season, we have totally lost direction in what we're doing.

In simple terms the game plan is almost the same as last season - the problem is we appear to have lost the element of pace or tempo, forgotten how to press and seemingly lost all confidence in how to go forward effectively.

Too many of the current passing moves appear based on fear of making a mistake and that inexorably leads to the players doing just that, making mistakes.

The lack of cohesive forward play makes it look like the ball is a white hot potato and players just wanna get rid of it, irrespective of the direction of play or whether their outlet pass plays someone else into trouble.

This is not a bad squad. Yes, some of the stalwarts are below par - Jags, Howard, Barry and Ross, upon who maybe too much pressure is being heaped - and I am beginning to feel that Roberto Martinez has to develop a Plan B as Plan A without true pace and tempo is all too easily negated.

As a club, we should be too big, too strong and certainly too experienced to get dragged into the relegation scrap... but we've sadly been there before and we sure as sh1t don't want any of that scenario again.

I guess as supporters we have to continue to do just that, support. However, largely inept performances like those against Hull, QPR (even though we won), Southampton and Stoke today are hardly conducive to making it easy.

And let's not even mention some of the desperate refereeing we've endured this season or we really will make ourselves miserable.

Funny how Barkley, lukaku, Barry, coleman, baines, jags, Howard, distin are all to blame/ on bad form yet the common denominator in the manager isn't.
