Shocking injury for Andre Gomes hope he comes back from this and plays again for Everton
Anybody think we should of had two penalties today Deli hand ball and richarlison tackle in penalty box

I hate to mirror my comments of last week but... why I am not surprised.

That Atkinson can’t see Walcott didn’t commit a foul (and I’m the best part of six times further away than the ref). For the record if it deserved review why book Walcott in the first place when there are three options?)

Why isn’t a clear handball (in a non natural position) not a routine penalty ?

Why was Atkinson bringing out a yellow card for such an apparently awful challenge (VAR adjusts to red) and indeed - was it the collision that caused the serious injury which suggests the red card might have been harsh)

And indeed the non foul on Richarlison didn’t warrant a red card review

We’ve now reached the point where refs feel the need to check every moment of controversy - and yet still not have the balls to follow through. As I had already remarked - would Brighton have benefitted from VAR 1-2 down with ten minutes to go at Goodison? I’m not so sure.
They certainly wouldnt benefit in front of the Kop at Anfield.

I disagree with your Son evaluation, he chased Gomes down and threw himself into a tackle from behind. Definite red for me and Son is culpable in the injury.
Ok mate. No probs.
He definitely chased him down and wanted to bring him down. I agree on that.
In my opinion though, if Gomes just go down and can get up and carry on playing (which 99 times out of 100 is what happens), Son would just have got a yellow I'm sure. It happens all the time. Unfortunately he slipped/slid into the on rushing Aurier.....and the rest speaks for itself.
But its subjective I suppose.

In light of Gomes absence, does this mean Schneiderlin or Sigurdson come back in? In the former case and assuming Delph is next to him, we are back to crab sideways ball and if Sig starts we are back to playing with a horribly unbalanced side. A hobson's choice if ever there were one for Silva. In each case, we have looked dreadful this season when these guys have started.

Perhaps Davies and Delph in the middle, Rich/Walcott on the wings and two up top (Tosun plus DCL/Kean/Iwobi) might be a new option?

How long are we really giving Delph before another injury hits him? Pretty soon it´ll be whoever is fit gets a game in that position.

Why have they brought in that new rule of go off at the nearest point if they're not going to use it, twice spurs players could have gone off at nearest point but the ref let them waste time and slowly walk off to the half way line. And why wasn't more added time played? 12minutes and I'm sure they made a sub, we scored a goal and a VAR check in there.

Ref was a joke. Absolutely shocking

The whole car thing is a farce and it’s making the game ridiculous
