He definitely chased him down and wanted to bring him down. I agree on that.
In my opinion though, if Gomes just go down and can get up and carry on playing (which 99 times out of 100 is what happens), Son would just have got a yellow I'm sure. It happens all the time. Unfortunately he slipped/slid into the on rushing Aurier.....and the rest speaks for itself.
But its subjective I suppose.

I am not saying Son intends to seriously harm Gomes but he has to bear some responsibility for his actions.

Nobody seen a broken ankle coming but with Aurier anything is possible as he was flying in. Son does have to bare some of the blame for chasing him down intending to take him out. He doesn’t deserve any racist tweets etc about him though. You could see as soon as it happened what it did to him that should be sufficient enough

Son was just taking a yellow to stop Gomes.

Something Gomes, Delph, Davies, Sigurdsson etc etc do every week and we applaud them for it. It's all just really unfortunate. It's a 3-game ban for Son and we move on. Let's not be West Ham fans about this.

The whole officiating is farcical and appears (probably is) corrupt. How can we be the only league to get this so wrong and so biased.

I can answer it. Brand Premier League and how it’s run. The sooner there’s a big European league and the premier league goes back to being run by the FA where all the small teams like bury get a (small) slice of the pie the better.

Firstly would like to give my well wishes to Gomes. Awful injury, and I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

That aside, what an awful match. Both teams looked struck for ideas. Defenders had most of the ball, which says it all.

On the red card, I think it was harsh. Sonny is just trying to bring him down, probably reacting to the lose arm that caught him from Gomes, but never meant to hurt him. The tackle isn’t the ankle breaker, it’s the way Gomes unfortunately landed when Aurier went to tackle him.
