No point in flipping ffs. Yeah we should be winning and really should have taken 6 points from the 2 games but **** happens. Give Martinez time to see what he does and if after 10-15 games we are struggling to get points on the board then its time to worry. We weren't ****e, but we weren't great either amd he has to find a blend of wanting this passing game but also include good pressing and some urgency in the mix.

Some whoppers in this thread. Moyes had loads of those games last season where we dominated but couldn't score. But let's all get on Martinez's back.
All i am seeing off Jelavic is a man trying too hard, he is taking up other players positions getting in the way, making runs when he does'nt need to, getting caught offside with his over eagerness. He just needs to settle down a bit and stop running around like a headless chicken.

Kone looked good, great movement and got involved in the play. He's earned a starting place, not like there was much competition anyways. Coleman was an absolute beast today, unfortunate not to get a goal.
Honestly its the exact same problem we had under Moyes, we're only creating half chances and not scoring anything. Only difference is our defense looks a bit more shaky under Martinez.

Well that was frustrating...but i really can't see what all the fuming is about. I can think of about two dozen games that have had that exact same pattern over the last few years. We struggle to get numbers in the box and we have done for years, partly the lack of a decent striker and partly a lack of pace in the centre of the park allowing us to get bodies from back to front in time.
But to me these are all familiar problems so i really don't see why the finger is being pointed at Martinez's apparent change of approach. Other than Fellaini playing deeper i think barely anything has changed at all, i dont think we have the personnel to do so yet.
Bizarre tone of commentary on the stream too. Lots of references to our 'more ponderous approach', not playing two up top and to 'adding fuel to the critics'. Not sure what that agenda is all about, very weird. Martinez has been in charge of two competitive games. I expect kneejerk fuming on here but bit surprising amongst a neutral commentary team.
