I would be worried if we had been out played in the last two games and had 0 points

He is trying to change a style that has been built within the club for over a decade, These things take time, 4 months is not long enough to judge the man, If in 9-10 months from now we are still having the same problems then bombs away with the worrying and what not but some of the utter crap that gets posted on here makes me want to volley all yer mars in the rat

Some whoppers in this thread. Moyes had loads of those games last season where we dominated but couldn't score. But let's all get on Martinez's back.

It would help if it didn't look like he'd set his team up to draw. You know. Players not allowed to get into the box on corners. Nobody committing themselves to move forward.

Mirallas not good enough with his pass today.
And we need to get into the game quicker, instead of distin-jagielka pass all the time.
Fellaini has always been unlucky with his shots, he has hit the woodwork for infinite times this year.

Unlucky not to score. Apart from the lack of urgency in the 2nd half it wasn't that bad. We had over 20 attempts on goal so its not like we were not creating chances. We looked good when we upped the tempo we just didn't do it enough.

I get it how its his first two games and and it needs time. However can someone explain why there were just 4 players with us having a corner in the first half and then Distin not even going in the box for one in the 2nd half.

Crying out for Deulofeu surely? Think Kone should be our starter next week as well.

WE weren't that bad, our problem is the same as its been for the last 5 seasons or whatever, simply not clinical enough in front of goal. 22 shots and no goals is horrific.

This is probably the most rational post in the last ten pages. Some hilarious, unsubstantiated kneejerking from others, who seem to have forgotten that we LOST to Norwich and WBA last year.

Had Olsson walked for the elbow on Jelavic, the game could have turned out differently. We do need to get our pacy players dribbling at defenders though - I wanted to see Deulefeulefoofoo come on and cause panic in their back four. And we need a ball-playing CM as an upgrade in the middle of the park - NOT Barry or McCarthy thank you, we need an UPGRADE. Sadly, I can't think of one.

Last few pages of this thread have been jaw dropping bad. Get a grip FFS. So we didn't win a game, boohoo.

Honestly you'd swear we'd just been bummed by Rotherham the way you're acting.

Problem today wasn't tactical, it was 100% mental. The players didn't work hard enough off the ball, they lacked urgency and looked nervous constantly in possession.

Now there could be a few reasons for this. Obviously there's a tentative stage involved when adopting a new style of play, but it appeared more than that. Baines, to me, looked he had a point to prove. He, Coleman and Barkley could not have their efforts questioned. But the likes of Mirallas and especially Fellaini appeared disinterested on some occasions. Draw your own conclusions as to why that may be.

It was a tense atmosphere, it's been a tense week. Some players channeled that into desire to win, while a few seemed to brick themselves.

I've no doubt we'll be fine this season, but too many more performances of that lackluster intensity will have me worried.

Oh, and koff Osman.

In the corresponding fixture last year we won 2-1 with two goals from Baines, including a penalty.

2012/13
Possession 55.9%
Shots on target 6 v 2
Shots off target 7 v 3
Corners 5 v 2

2013/14
Possession 61%
Shots on target 8 v 2
Shots off target 14 v 5
Corners 11 v 1

We hit the post and the crossbar. If the stats are anything to go by we're playing better football, we're just not being clinical enough. Hopefully Jelavic or Kone will open their goalscoring account and regain some composure in front of goal.

No mate Martinez has us playing like Stoke

Under Moyes we passed and moved like Barca and had the cutting edge of B.Munich ffs

Very concerning that regarding the corners. On more than two occasions I noticed we had three players in their box from a corner and they had 10. What's that all about?

Martinez needs to grow some balls and drop Leon Osman, who again was the worst player on the pitch.

Baines again didn't look himself but Coleman was fantastic. I dare say if we can get 15m for Baines and have two quality players lined up to go into the starting XI I might be for the move, but I expect we'd sell him, buy somebody **** and have 70% of the money disappear.

Same goes for Fellaini, who was alright today but has to dominate poor teams like that.

Jelavic can do one, somebody get on the phone to Hamburg and see if they have any money whatsoever to take him off our hands.

Wtf is Naismith doing getting a game? The fella is Championship standard at best.

Mirallas was **** today too, wonder what's up with him?

You would have a point, if only for the fact that he brought Naismith on. What was the point in getting Deulofeu in, if you arent going to bring him on in that situation? Are Barcelona going to be made up that he gets half a game against Stevenage?
