A few observations:

1) We lack the cutting edge in the final third. That's really it. We do all the hard work but have nothing to show for it at the end.

2) Would have liked to have have had one win and a draw vs. two draws but it's not the end of the world.

3) I imagine that when Gibson is healthy, that Osman will be the one to make way, not Barkley.

4) Roberto needed to make a change sooner than he did today. I didn't mind Naismith (based on his stellar preseason form) but Oviedo or Deulofeu in on the wing with Pienaar moving into the middle for Osman would have been my preferred substitution.

5) I wanted Vic on before Kone.

6) Fellaini seemed fine to me today. Too many on Twiiter saying he was playing like his head was turned. I didn't see it.

That is all.

From the 82nd to the 88th minute he was a bit out of control, but I think he had a boss game otherwise.

No knee jerk reaction from me. I haven't seen us play that bad since smith. First game at home for the new manager, first home game of the season and I would have expected more from the players. It was an awful performance, and thats the scary part.

Don't go on about possession, shots, blocks etc coz you sound like kopites. It was the style of play I'm worried about, and that was bad, really bad

Off the top of my head, QPR 1-0 defeat at home 2011 was worse, Bolton away 2011 and Wigan last season in the F.A cup

Agreed.

Off the top of my head I just picked 2010/11 at random - full results here http://www.evertonresults.com/201011.htm

You may choose from

Wolves H 1-1
Newcastle H 0-1
Bolton H 1-1
WBA H 1-4
Wigan H 0-0
Reading H 0-1 (Cup)
Birmingham H 1-1

We had a lot of grim days under Moyes - the above season was his ninth year in charge.

The complete absence of even one win in some 44 attempts away to the RS, Mancs, Chelski and Arsenal; the abject surrender to the RS in the FAC SF; the European hammerings to Benfica and Bucharest etc etc

I think RM has only been in charge for two league games so far, but maybe I missed something. :P

Spot on

Moyes had years to build a team and get them playing his way yet still had some awful awful performances

Martinez has been in charge for two league games using another mangers squad and trying to change a playing style that has been built up over a decade

Give him time, If in 12 months we are still playing poorly and not getting the results then fine but not after such a short period of time

define not getting the results. i dont want another walter scenario where he hangs on for several years with no justification in particular.

Same problem that we´ve had for a long time. We can´t break teams down who park the buss. Kone made a big difference though.

.....I think we're transitioning to a new style. Under Moyes at home we were all pressure and wore teams down. RM already appears to like a more methodical approach. Season ticket holders might want to start taking their knitting or a book as it could be lots of possession, lots of passing but not much happening in the business third. I'm concerned but appreciate that change often gets worst before it gets better. I'd just like us to be playing in the top third of the pitch.

Disappointing overall since we clearly struggled to find inventive last ball against team parking the bus very deep but despite that we were the width of the post from a probable win. Lots of twists and turns ahead but we just have to improve the pace of moving the ball around and especially hit our man with that final pass.
