People get really carried away with this. It isn't the Tyneside Derby with two awful teams capable of beating each other, Liverpool are always going to be difficult for us to play against.

Just look at how much they've spent over those past 35 games, just look at some of the players they've had over that time.

We've managed to beat Man Utd, Man City & Chelsea multiple times in the past 11 years. They've all spent a lot more than us.


It is nowhere near good enough. It is not as if they've been brilliant and winning the league every year either. We've been pretty much neck and neck.
