Gone for Virginia. Sometimes, there just isn't anything you can do. City were five moves ahead every time we ventured past the halfway line.

One day, City et al will get sick of smashing noobs like Norwich and WBA week on week, and end up in a two-tiered European Super League - the CL expansion to 48 teams is the middleman there.

Just like a win at Anfield, our time will come - just needs something a bit crazy to happen.

Until the state investment arm of Saudi Arabia buy Newcastle, the PL has in Man City, a club whose owner's wealth dwarfs that of all the other billionaire club owners, combined. It's a case of obscene wealth polarisation (ironically), in a world that is manifesting it more and more. Salary caps need to be brought in, perhaps a draft system like in the US, TV subscription fees need to be slashed, payments of TV to the PL need to be slashed, advertisement rates paid need to slashed and ticket coasts need to be slashed.

Nice to know btw that we still live rent free in the neighbour’s heads, almost every tweet on the Club’s account or as a whole is from them about us

They need a life, feel sorry for them really their whole world must revolve around football.

Fair enough you can laugh at local rivals losing but beyond a point it's just sad and a reflection of an empty life.

We will sign more talented players in the summer, our squad will improve considerably and we will be equipped, barring injury crisis, to have more of a go at a team like that next season.
Need two summer transfer windows to secure class players and that means probably two summer windows to ciear out the dross. Not expecting us to take on the Citys, Chelseas, Man Utds, and possibly Spurs on a regular basis until then.

Totally agreed on BT - I watched most of it with the volume on mute, just for my own sanity and to save my TV from my fists when mcmanaman starts chatting wham.

Tbh Im not too down, considering who we had missing and who we were playing - we played ok in the main, and followed Carlos gameplan almost to the letter. The ref didn't help at all, but when they can bring on kdb, Mahrez and rodri what chance have you got? Like I say, we show the same commitment and effort until the end of the season and Europe is a real possibility.

Then we need to add 4 or 5 of similar quality this summer to digne, Godfrey, Keane, Mina, Allan, doucoure, James, DCL and Richy we will do more than ok - the club has to back ancelloti for next season otherwise what's the point?
Yes 130 million quid of talent off and 160 million of talent on. We played well and were disciplined tonight and a bit unlucky. Even Pep said it has been one of the toughest matches they have played this year.

Trouble with Everton is that good players on paper, quickly become 'Evertonised' when they join us...unambitious and unmotivated (outside of Blue Chrimbo community events). We will always be also-rans (i.e. 7th to 12th and a decent cup run every 3 or 4 years)

I'm still pretty annoyed right now so maybe I need some time to reflect. But I genuinely thought the referee was awful and gave us literally nothing. Not too many others have said which makes me doubt myself, but I thought he was as bad as I've seen in a long time.
Not alone .
Said it earlier he was Star struck with the City players.
And we should have had a pen.

The benches Everton put out are nothing short of a disgrace, I will reiterate what I said previously. Everton need to be shod of all the dead wood and before they do that they will win diddly squat, absolutely nothing.

Coleman, Davies and Sigs are useful squad players (ie SUBS) - they wouldn't get no where near any starting 11 challenging at the top - that's where Moshiri and fans want Everton, well me at least. I am not sure about others going by remarks I see.

They need at least 6 signings to replace deadwood, Everton can compete them at least.

i am big into 'Marvel Universe' cosplay and so am often on websites serving us Ironman fans. One site I viewed yesterday also does fancy dress for all sorts of events and i saw some fabulous pixie costumes and i thought how great our brave lionhearts would look dressed in those for this year's Blue Chrimbo events. Come Yuletide, I can just imagine the joy our brave lads, dressed in them, would bring to audiences at Merseyside's various orphanages and work houses.
Everton provide very little joy on the footie pitch...but they are gems when it comes to community events.
