I have to smile reading this thead: all the application of GOT members' tactical and strategic rationale, the febrile passion of Royal Blue supporters. Meanwhile, our team of brave lionhearts are only thinking of their shares or their real estate portfolios. And it will show come game-time.
This team is a difficult one to feel fondness toward...a bunch of obscenely overpaid, spineless bottlers

I do not hate Liverpool as much as you seem to hate Everton!

Holgate will get roasted Godfrey right back dignes left back and Nkoyonkou left midfield for pace
Godfrey seems to struggle on the right a lot more than on the left. I'd just play Coleman if he's fit.

As for the game itself, it'll likely be a case of being soundly beaten, but if you can weather the early storm against a top side, you never know.

I reckon the team will be:

Olsen
Coleman Holgate Keane Godfrey
Davies Gomes Sigurdsson
Richarlison Calvert-Lewin Digne
Someone said that Ancelotti mentioned Holgate being able to play midfield, and he did do well there last season, but I can't see it.

If that's the midfield that ends up starting we might as well just give them a walk over at least it will only be recorded as a 2-0 loss then.

SOME OF THE PEP PRE MATCH EVERTON FA CUP P/C

Champions League reaction

It is what it is, in more than two weeks we'll face them. Privileged to be in last-eight. I didn't see much this season because we don't have time to watch other competitions but this international break we will have a chance. Dortmund is a real good team.

FA Cup struggles?

In the past?

Every competition, it's a knockout game. We won once, semis twice, it's not bad. I'm not saying we didn't take it seriously, we know how important it is in this country. Quarter finals, Everton away, will be tough. We were there last month, it's tough, Bernardo and Riyad helped us. Calvert-Lewin is back. Hopefully we can finish well and start the important part of the season.

Ancelotti

What makes him such a legend?

He's managed the best clubs in the world. Has been everywhere and always had success. People talk about him, as a person, when he takes care of me when I start, I visited at Milan, how gentle he is. I admire him a lot.

What did you ask in Milan?

Not much, I saw one or two training sessions in Milan. He was so kind, we spoke a little. Nothing special but when people take care of others he is one of the good guys.

Are you unbeatable after Ancelotti said you were?

He should have said to United that proved we are not. Different games, competition. It's a final, a few weeks ago it wasn't a final. Away, you have to realise how they play, how we can find spaces, control set pieces because they have a master with Sigurdsson. The quality of players are there. They're doing well in the league, fighting for the Champions League, they shows how good they have done. Another incredible opportunity to go through and go into the break a good job done, hopefully players can come back safe for the corona and play the last two months the best as possible to arrive in May to win titles.

Thoughts on Haaland

Will see him up close soon

The numbers speak for itself. One of the best strikers i the world at his age. I saw a few games, the highlights, the numbers are impressive. I know the quality of this player, everybody knows. In two weeks I could answer better because I didn't see much. Dortmund have experience, Witsel, Gueirro, Sancho, Reya, they invest in good young players with wages and salaries for agents. They have a lot of quality. They beat Sevilla who are in one of the best knockout teams. Dortmund is tough, could have been the others, all of them, just to discover how they are as a team and try to do a good first game. After a second one, if we do good games we deserve to go through. No more secret than that. Leeds are not the best team to face between the two legs, we now have two weeks to analyse and see a few games, how they are.

Another Haaland question

Are you interested?
He's a player from Dortmund. I don't like when people talk about our players. You understand I cannot answer this question.

SOME OF THE ANCELOTTI PRE MATCH MAN CITY FA CUP P/C

Big blow

We have out the two goalkeepers, Olsen & Pickford. Gbamin is also out but he will start training next week. James, Doucoure & Delph also out
After the international break we have the chance to recover some players. James is one of these, maybe Gbamin.

Carlo on Keane

I didn't speak to him about this, he's focused on tomorrow. It's a decision for the coach of the national team.
He's going to have two months to convince Southgate he is ready.

Quality

No I'm not worried because Joao is young, a goalkeeper without experience, but he has a lot of quality. I am not worried for the absence of the two goalkeepers"

Carlo on Man City & Injuries

I'm not complaining for the players that are not available. It will be a difficult game, but I don't think it's an easy game for Man City. They have better quality than us, but I'm sure they will have a difficult game
We can compete with a good spirit, with a good attitude on the pitch, a strong concentration defensively, try to use the set pieces where we are strong.
I think these kinds of games, we did really well. Where we missed out on points is with teams more at our level but the top teams, we did well all the time. I'm confident tomorrow will be the same

Carlo on FA CUP

It's a knockout, a really important game. We have a big desire to go forward in this competition. I have confidence as usual, above all in this type of game. We are focused, we are concentrated.

More From Carlo on City

Ancelotti says MCFC are fantastic in possession and especially in 1-on-1 situations but says it's important for EFC to battle "with a good spirit" and use set-piece opportunities where his side are strong
Ancelotti adds that his side have to "compete better" when they are without the ball against MCFC after EFC were in the game for an hour before the league defeat against City earlier this season. He describes tomorrow's game as "exciting and difficult

Very Important

Carlo is asked if this is the most important game of his Everton career so far?
Typically Carlo smiles and concedes "Yes, this is really important. yes."

Carlo on Midfield

Of course it will be important but I think we are well covered. We do not have Doucoure but if you watch the game against City, we didn't have Allan & Calvert-Lewin. I think we can play in a better level

Carlo on James

He will be available for the game against Crystal Palace when the league restarts

Carlo on Mina

His condition is really good, he is fit 100%. Tomorrow he will be available to play

Carlo on Doucoure

He's recovering, he's doing only treatment. He's still in a boot and cannot touch the floor. At the moment, we cannot say when he will be back.
