That's fine, I don't think it is a popular view, but I really think football is way too tolerant of tackles with absolutely no intent to do anything but foul. It makes the game worse more than anything but also at times more dangerous.

But at the same time you’re ok with defenders rugby tackling attackers on corners with no repercussions. Odd lines you draw.

Great effort and a bit of commitment and bottle can go a long way on a footy pitch, and the players turned up tonight.

Begovic was rock solid.

Back four were solid - sheamus was immense for me - the tackle on asm to set the goal chance off was brilliant.

Allan was everywhere and should never have seen red for a tackle that members of the scab 6 do multiple times every match - disgraful from the ref and var yet again.

Gordon was great again, ran his plums off, as did Richy and iwobi, who took his chance like he does it all the time. DCL looked much better and gave their grocks some stick, which I liked.

And Fronk lampard is boss.

My motm thought were the fans - absolutley immense from minute 1 to minute 115, everything the team needed we did and more, and I just wish we could do that more often or when it's not a night game - the opposition/league couldn't live with us.

Like I say, this has to just be the start now - turn up again like this at palace in the cup, go and work over the international break and then hammer the hammers after that!

No it's exactly the same thinking. It shouldn't be allowed and the game would be better if it weren't. But since it isn't called regularly it shouldn't be ever. It really isn't different at all.

I actually wouldn't mind that tackle being red as he made zero attempt on the ball.

But.... those are never reds!! You cannot give one red and the other 99% as yellow. Thats not acceptable.

Was out for paddy’s day in an Irish bar over here with my brother and our ladies and friends. Not a single bit of interest in the game apart from me and my bro. It’s always weird suffering a game like that when nobody gives a flying one around you. People having “reasonable” discussions about the state of the club when you just want them to stfu and get me another beer whilst I hatewatch the game
