Well we have a second chance now, palace are beatable and it’s away from the league soon a way we can relax a little bit and enjoy it.The last win we had like that was Arsenal. Thought we’d turned the corner until we went away to Palace a few days later..
CAN I STOPPINGS NOW?Can everyone start chanting Nam Myōhō Renge Kyō.
Just repeat it over and over whilst thinking of our club. Say it loud, say it quiet, whisper it, whatever you prefer.
It will work.
When Iwobi scored, it was bedlam around me. We've had the lows recently, but those highs are what keep pulling us in and showing what it actually means. Was incredible. That explosion of relief/delerium at the goal.
Now I've calmed down a bit, what really pleased me was that the team didn't lose or drop their heads after the red. Read an interview with Gordon yesterday where he said the players, collectively, have done that too often this season. When Iwobi scored, it was bedlam around me. It wasn't the best performance from the boys, but when we unfairly went down to ten men I believe we actually started doing what we should be doing.
We became organised and compact; they showed resilience, doggedness and at the end that final bit of spark. Those traits, if shown enough, will keep us up.
Spot on. It comes back to that resilience and doggedness. Compare it with Kenny, which was a fair sending it off, and they went flat and compliant. Now I've calmed down a bit, what really pleased me was that the team didn't lose or drop their heads after the red. Yup, fight and discipline are essential qualities in the position we find ourselves too. It was also impressive given how outraged Goodison was. Would have been easy to be properly wound up in the circumstances. They channeled the energy the right way.Spot on. It comes back to that resilience and doggedness. There was composure. They showed unity in the sense of playing as a team and their celebrations for the goal and at the end. It was a team playing together.
I could sit here and type about things we could have done better, which there'd a few, as the performance wasn't great. But right now that's not important.
It's the result and the character they showed getting the result. Let's not get carried away as it's one result, but it could be the catalyst for change.
Remember Martinez's first season? We didn't get our first win under Martinez until mid-September but then came a performance dripping in resilience.
There's countless other examples we could all bring back over the years. Hopefully, we will look back on last night as one of those performances.
Right from the sending off the atmosphere was unreal. Allan was our best player by a distance for me. Yellow card easy decision, play on.When Iwobi scored, it was bedlam around me. We've had the lows recently, but those highs are what keep pulling us in and showing what it actually means.

A gentleman near me somehow lost his shoe and it ended up the row in front and about six seats away. I can only think he threw it in the madness!Right from the sending off the atmosphere was unreal. Allan was our best player by a distance for me. Yellow card easy decision, play on.
When we scored the place went mental. After calming down after the goal realised my phone was gone. Took 2 minutes to find it about 10 seats to the right of me
The sheer relief, happiness and noise around the stadium for the 10 minutes after the final whistle was amazing
Think when everyone got out the realisation of what just happened and that it was Iwobi had scored the winner hit home and we were still getting over the shockA gentleman near me somehow lost his shoe and it ended up the row in front and about six seats away. Slightly disappointed there wasn't a "Marching down the Gooidison road!" being bellowed out after the game while people bounced down said road.
