Everton Youth Teams Thread

Did anyone else find that an utterly miserable first half watch?

No structure at all, the two senior pros in the side showing no urgency, the Swansea opposition couldn't be arsed, absolutely no style of football and no one seemed to care?

Was like watching the first team etc etc.

not a bad first half.
Thought Beni was great, tough and well able to find a pass, always trying to get forward.
Klassen seemed to be deeper, along side Baningime or just in front of him, seems to do well with the ball in front of him.
RFM did fine, no reason why he shouldn't start in the first time considering how crap all our centre halves are.
The u23s seem to suffer from the same problem as the first team when it comes to attacking. No proper use of the wings, all bunched up trying to walk it right down the middle, it's a shame because that bowler lad looks quite capable of making it to the line and cutting it back.
I know that it's not much of a standard but it's nice to see a team where every one seems to know their job and know where their team mates are.

Been like that all the games i have watched except for the one Coleman made his comeback in.

What is even more worrying was Paul Taits interview in the echo a few weeks ago saying that they have gone to a more direct style in the academy system. Focusing on diagonal balls to the striker and coaching the players into winning second balls. Depressing stuff if you ask me.
