Everton Youth Teams Thread

What about a Southampton, Newcastle, Cardiff, or Huddersfield? Dowell would be a class above in terms of skill to whatever they've got in those positions. My fear is the relegation candidates go the other other way and just try and get clean sheets. But you need to score goals to stay up. Fulham would be ideal, but they probably feel like they've got enough experienced options up top.
I wouldn't put him within a million miles of Warnock mate. The other teams are all fighting relegation too and those teams tend to automatically revert to a negative first stance as they fight for survival.

I like Dowell but he is not good enough, at least right now. TBH the golden generation of our academy are not good enough. Just look where are they now. :(
They are all still 20/21 mate.

Four are part of the first team squad, two now play for teams in the championship and another four are still on the clubs books and on loan and playing regularly in the championship. To get 10 from the same group to be doing so well at such a young age is pretty outstanding in my opinion.

But because none of them are good enough to be regular starters in a premier team by the time they're 21, they have all failed according to you.

Oh, and 3 of them have world cup winners medals and another 1 only missed out because if injury.

Who's he given opportunities to ?

Kenny, Davies where already in the team. Wheres Dowell ? Wheres Baningime ?
He's doing OK Mikey. Problem is we have so many good youngsters who all need exposure to the first team, that he can't possibly accommodate them all at the same time. Baningime would have had an opportunity earlier had he not also been injured. He already has young attacking players, DCL and Lookman on the bench who, in fairness, are ahead of Dowell at the moment. He's given Dowell a couple of opportunities in the league cup, which he didn't take. that's not Silva's fault.

I think he's getting the balance just about right.

Dowell is good enough for us, he's just not yet as good as Sigurdsson, So Silva ain't gonna drop Sigurdsson to play him, and 2 places on the bench are currently being wasted on Baines/Extra striker which is why he doesn't make the bench. A loan to a good Germany team would be best for him. The championship is too much about physicality than actual talent.

Its a shame really i though Silva was gonna be good for our young players but guess i was wrong.

What’s he meant to do? He gave him a start in the league cup and he was very disappointing at this moment Dowell is well behind other players in his position

He played 45 minutes. Jesus christ, everton ""fans"" are so quick to rush to write off young academy players. Didn't mind giving Sigurdsson/keane 12 months to get their acts together though did use ?

Lookman/Lewin dont play in the same position as Dowell so they cant be ahead. He gave him ONE game v Rotherham where he was played out of position and he gave him 45 minutes against Southampton where the entire team were poor.

Look where they are now ? their 20/21 and they're already back up to our first team which cost 400m ? Id say thats pretty good for a club who's academy has produced ONE top player in their entire history wouldnt you ?

So in this sense it is good they are backup yet earlier you were saying that silva is bad For our youngsters as they aren’t playing (even though a group of them are appearing every game)

I was expecting them to get more game time than they have so far. How Bernard/Walcott start over Lookman for one.
