Everton Youth Teams Thread

Lookman/Lewin dont play in the same position as Dowell so they cant be ahead. He gave him ONE game v Rotherham where he was played out of position and he gave him 45 minutes against Southampton where the entire team were poor.
But we are only allowed 7 subs, not one for each position. I agree though that Silva was wrong to sub Dowell after 45 that game and have already said as much on here.

Wigan Athletic want Everton midfielder Kieran Dowell, according to journalist Alan Nixon on Twitter.
The Latics could see him as a potential replacement for Nick Powell, who is being linked with a move away in the January transfer window.

Dowell, who is 21-years-old, is likely to leave Everton on loan this winter to gain some more first-team experience in the Championship. He hasn’t featured for their senior side this season but has played for them in the EFL Trophy twice.

He joined his boyhood club Everton at the age of seven and rose through the youth ranks at Goodison Park. Dowell was a regular for the Toffees’ youth sides at all levels and made his first-team debut in December 2014 in a Europa League tie against FC Krasnodar.

Dowell has since featured twice more for Everton but spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest in the Championship and impressed for them. He played 43 times for the Reds in all competitions, scoring 10 goals.

The midfielder has also made 11 caps for the England U21s having previously represented the Three Lions at U16, U17, U18 and U20 levels in the past.

Losing Nick Powell would be a real blow for Wigan in January and they will do their best to keep him at the DW Stadium. Nevertheless, Kieran Dowell showed his ability at Nottingham Forest last season and would be a ready-made replacement.

He the lad we signed from Holland?
Yeah we got Nathan Baxter at 16 from Vitesse, believe he was in Holland with his parents , born in England. There was a bit of publicity around him at the time but never became a regular u18 player , just bit parts , and we never offered him a professional contract. An odd one really , he’d never really done anything in Holland , unlike Markelo who was and is part of the youth set up.

..he’s also been linked with a move to Rangers. The stumbling block could be the player himself as he’s said he’s not interested in another loan deal.
