Everton Youth Teams Thread

Do you know where Jack Tierney is playing? I think it’s his first start , looks from the line up a middle CB of a three , Mallon/ Lowey full backs. Any knowledge of what’s happened to Katia Kouyate too? Cheers.
Sorry I don't, but led to believe he is at right CB, with possibly Hagan or Seb in the middle. Kat is now 23s, possibly injuried

Ive also found the 10mins highlights of the u18s derby from last week if any wanted them lol, i watched it last week but may be the 1st time some of you seen the goals etc-you may have to click the pic to make it start

Cheers for that . I had a quick look at the goals, it looked like the O.G. cannoned off Butterfield, I saw various reports of it being Welch or a RS player.

yep, it was given as og for 45mins,but as you see the keeper saves it and cannons in of the liverpool's players head when slowed down, not the best of angles for the game but this was the reason it wasnt live and it was not the main pitch, main was used for the u23s game that afternoon

Watcihng that back, they were pretty lucky to come away with the win. Looks like we played most of the actual decent football, and their first goal their player basically throws our lad to the floor after knocking in past/through his legs, then a flukey deflection after the keeper saves. Ref must be related to Clattenburg the way he only gave their keeper a yellow for the foul that lead to our freekick which hit the underside of the bar, then ignored our penalty claims when their cb basically bear hugged our player when he tried to turn him. Then their winner gets a lucky break of the ball after a cross is blocked and lands at the feet of one of their lads 15 yards out.

Cheers again. Watched it and we won 6-1 (Scarlett 2). Should have been 8-1.

Worth watching it just to hear the commentators pain.
Yeah i watched the 1st half, great 3rd goal from free kick and maybe lucky with 2nd not been giving a foul, will look through it later to see goals again as in ones ive not seen

Assistant manager Keith Southern hailed match-winner Charlie Whitaker’s impressive all-round performance after the talented forward scored the only goal in Everton Under-18s’ 1-0 victory at Sunderland on Saturday.

Whitaker slotted home from inside the penalty box after a flowing team move to put Everton in front on 12 minutes.

And while the Toffees created numerous chances to extend their advantage, his strike was to prove decisive at the Academy of Light.

The victory lifts Everton up to sixth in the U18 Premier League (North) table. The young Blues return to action next Saturday when Middlesbrough visit USM Finch Farm.

“It was a tough game and it was scrappy at times,” Southern told evertonfc.com.

“We scored an early goal through Charlie, who tucked his finish away really nicely. He had a really good game. He was excellent throughout.

“On another day, with the opportunities we missed, we could have scored three or four.

"And when you don’t take those chances to give yourselves more of a cushion, you’re always under pressure towards the end of the game.

“Credit to the players, we seen out those moments really well.

“We had to show different qualities and a real professionalism to see the game out. We got the job done and the lads deserved the win.

“It was a long journey up to Sunderland in the morning before the match and we played on a heavy pitch, so it’s a very good three points.”

I tell you what, that's an impressive win. Chelsea and City generally regarding as the top 2 teams in the country, with a host of others taking it in terms to compete. A brilliant result for Spurs that.

Spurs were miles better; they're decent at academy level. The ref had a bit of a mare on a couple of goals but Spurs destroyed them. Young lad up front, Dane Scarlett (16), looked really good.
