Everton Youth Teams Thread

Everton u18s team to face Middlesbrough u18s - 12.30ko - Everton have won the last 9 home v Boro

Stewart, Hagan, Lowey, Mallon, Kristensen, Tierney, McAllister, Warrington, Melcalfe, Garcia, Whitaker,
Subs Leban, Thompson, Lawrence, Quintyne, Jagne

I’m assuming that’s Emilio Lawrence getting his first chance.

He’s an under 15 striker from Manchester who we managed to get ahead of City and United, who both desperately wanted him, when he was 9.

IMO, he’s the best striker in the country for his age.
There seems to be a lot of mixed things about him if he's actually a sub or not, many say yes and many say no, but left him there incase [so may not be on the bench]

Yeah Emilio Lawrence has come up a few times recently. His exploits for England u15/16 have attracted attention and The Athletic had an article on the RS youth development where he was mentioned as someone they really wanted three or four years ago. I know he was with the England u16 squad pre Christmas, so going into this year, but I’m not sure when his birthday is. There was one suggestion that he’s not 16 until September, making him eligible for England u16 but too young to be a Scholar in the next intake. Any idea if that’s correct?

Them lot across Stanley Park were all out for him as well, Brendan Rodgers meeting him and his parents when he was 6 I remember reading.

1-0 Everton u18s on 26mins - Garcia - Our 1st shot
Right footed shot from close range in the centre, all came from a corner

Make it 2-0 on 29mins - Whitaker
Right footed shot from the right of the box into the bottom left of the goal

1st game in 5 we have scored 2 goals since we beat Blackburn 2-1 away

--------------
we seem to have woke up with the Goals, Tierney has just gone close now on 33mins

He’s in the under 15 age group. His birthday is sometime between Sep and Dec 2005 but he’s currently in year 10 at school.

He’s been selected for England with the 05’s but that will also involve under 16s born between Jan and Sep 2005.

He was never considering Liverpool. All clubs are after every decent player but they weren’t ever really in the running, it was us and City.

We owe Martin Waldron a lot with regards to him signing here if you want to read between the lines with that.

Cheers for that, the 1stJan for international age and 1st Sept for Scholars often throws up these anomalies. As you say, one to watch out for.

I see. I wondered which player was the special signing.
