Everton Youth Teams Thread

Can hold our heads up getting that far without looking the better side in arguably any of the rounds. WBA the better side but it'll probably be a procession for Villa at this point

Definitely Welch, got all the makings for a modern CB.

Welch was the guy who really stood out to me. Reminded me of a VVD type player.
 
I thought that was a sloppy performance the amount of times they got caught in possession dicking around with at the back was ridiculous. It's a bit frustrating knocking out the two best teams and then losing in the next round but judging by the way Aston Villa played tonight it was probably a blessing in disguise going out!

It sounds an odd thing to way, but I noticed him more with shorter hair. He has this wonderful trait of being calm and having time. Theres nothing rash from him at all, he stays on his feet etc.

I agree with your assessment too. I'd add in, Small looks impressive to me at left back but is a bit on the periphery. I know I've said it before but I also really like Dobbin too. Hes coming back from injury, and not fully sharp, but there is a player in there.

Outside of that I'm not the rest immediately stick out to me. Obviously Onyango has been with the 1st team, and Price is with the 1st time currently too so they probably have a bit more.

But yes, Welch was really impressive tonight.
 

Whilst I agree Welch was the standout, he did still get done a couple of times and was by no means flawless. Specifically the pull back Leban saved at the front post looked a bit too easily beat. He looks promising and definitely has the physique to make it though.

Others the club has pumped the PR for I'm not as high on though if I'm honest. Not sure I've seen the same player Brands and Ancelotti have in Warrington for example

Yes welch and Campbell who is a year younger were probably the 2 best players for us tonight but both still made sloppy mistakes.

Have Brands or Ancelotti ever talked about Warrington?

I hope brands can get us a young wide player for u18s or u23s this summer, one thing we are really missing especially with Bowler not having a future.
Kouyate will be the only one around.

I think this is a real shame in all honesty as it's clear he is a very talented young lad with a lot of ability, but he just isn't a team player by the looks of things.

Carlo got asked a question about Warrington at a press conference after Warrington had a good game. Basically he didn’t say anything, something like “ Ah yes Lewis, we have a number of good young players”. I saw a few mentions afterwards , probably Echo, that Carlo had talked about Warrington, he certainly didn’t on that occasion.
