Sorry but I haven’t seen anything lately connected to the first team that has convinced me there’s a clearer pathway for the youngsters once the PL gets under way. We churn over another manager, he has his own ideas , Moshiri and our fans want quick progress, he brings in experienced players to achieve it , youngsters not even needed as squad members. Take just one of your names Begovic. We now have the England goalkeeper and an experienced back up who’s come free. No chance for Virginia, Tyrer and Leban the young keepers below him. Rinse and repeat next season . If Pickford leaves buy in his replacement, get an older back up for free. At the moment it’s hard to see any new youngsters getting PL minutes this season , hope I’m wrong.
I‘m rapidly getting disenchanted with our first teams potential, I just hope the U23s and u18s can provide the interest for me and the club stream more of their matches .

And Gordon's chances have taken a nose dive with the possible arrival's ,we can debate all day if Gordon is up to it but he's not going to get a chance .
Unsworth and brands can have a planned pathway for these youngsters but like you say no stability or continuity at first team level makes the task almost impossible

If next summer Benitez says for example, I need a new forward but dobbin has had an amazing season and really kicked on, Brands should be saying no you have to use dobbin.
In my opinion anyway.
Brands has already lost face over the Benitez appointment, if he is basically Benitezs lacky too he should quit to save what's left of his dignity.

He should be saying that. But he shouldve been saying take these kids along for the bench last season when we didn't even name a full bench or named 2 keepers.
I just don't think he has much sway in Moshiris eyes compared to the 'hollywood' managers so now he's just taking us for the ride and doesn't care how it looks

Gordon needs to take his chance elsewere before he gets his chance now i think.
Only the elite ever really get through at PL clubs now and gordon hasent shown enough of that.
There is nothing wrong with giving him Championship loans (that actually work) until hes say....22.

There is a big dichotomy occurring between Brands and Benitez. The 18 year old Dutch centre back , promotion of Cannon and Whitaker to play first team friendly are clearly Brands, at the opposite side Townsend is clearly Benitez. They both have different roles but if their philosophy becomes so divergent then it doesnt bode well for us.

I'm not so sure on this. I've never really considered Gordon to be winger anyway. I think we could do much worse than getting him to be understudy to James. I think the type of player he is needs to be involved more, and being out wide limits his involvement.
