Probably wrong thread but all I'm seeing so far in here and in other threads and the media are reasons why we shouldn't have hired Benitez.

Well Everton are my team, I will always support them and won’t be joining any antiBenitez campaign, I just feel apathetic towards the first team at the moment, more interested in the U23s/18 .

Gordon needs to take his chance elsewere before he gets his chance now i think.
Only the elite ever really get through at PL clubs now and gordon hasent shown enough of that.
There is nothing wrong with giving him Championship loans (that actually work) until hes say....22.
Then we can make a decision

The frustration I have, is how many bad games has Gordon had compared to say Bernard, or Iwobi?

I'm not so sure on this. I've never really considered Gordon to be winger anyway. I think we could do much worse than getting him to be understudy to James. I think the type of player he is needs to be involved more, and being out wide limits his involvement.

These are my thoughts. With the wide players we are looking to get in, I think Gordon fits better playing off the main striker. He's quite capable with through balls and shooting. Whether he gets the chance or not is another matter.

If you're honest with yourself mate you've probably felt that way for a while. I was myself a few years ago but Unsy's tactics and overall management has turned me off a bit.

But happily we seem to be back to developing special talents again which is what the academy should be about.

I'd like to see Gordon be back up to James at number 10. Also might give us the option of playing 2 number 10s like Chelsea do. I would definitely keep him in the squad for first half of the season. If he makes no impression then he's probably not going to make it.
