Everton Youth Teams Thread

blackburn seems to be the go to place for our unwanted youth players

The same position as Mallon presumably, not offered/ agreed a pro contract so looking for another club. I lost track of their Scholar year but most now seem to have been offered contracts. I don’t recall Eli Campbell signing a pro contract though. thought we‘d be trying to tie him down by now.

Was it ever mentioned how much we got for Small in the tribunal fee? should have been a decent amount seeing as I'm pretty sure he was an England youth player

Roughly 4-4.5 million was the talked about fee. It was supposed to break Elliotts record

Thought it was proposed at £2mil

Unsworth was also of course Academy Director as well as u23s manager , if we keep those titles then the job is an attractive proposition for somebody external. Lee Carsely would be my choice if we can prise him away from the England set up .

That would be ideal. Thought he didnt want to do full time at a club due to his family?

Doug Lukjanciks

No, I know a lot about Seb but it’s the lad a few years younger.

It’s a foreign name and I don’t know it at the moment but I think it might be the name above.

He was found playing on a park in Southport about 2 years ago as well. He hasn’t been in an academy all his life.

Yes , as @mightymoyes said it’s Doug Lukjanciks, he was at the England u15 goalkeeper camps August and November last year. He’s in the current u15s squad for a Italy/ Chile/ England tournament in Italy later this month.

That could be an incredible story if @boris Is right

i fully expect to still sign a multitude of keepers at every age level that never get close to a 1st team game! :)
There’s a long way to go to becoming a first team keeper but he’s by far and away the best goalkeeping prospect at the club.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in our 18s next year.

Seb Jensen will get his chance, as he deserves it as a 1st year scholar but there’s no one else in his way. They’ll all get moved on as they’re not good enough. We’re seeing that with Jack Stewart now.

Apparently theres a lot of hype about Mohamed-Ali Cho from Angers in ligue 1. He was in the Everton youth setup but I never even heard of him. A striker with only 2 goals but 18 and regularly starting has generated some interest from certain top premier league clubs.

It is right and he’s meant to be very, very good.

I think we’ll see him fast tracked through our set up as well.

Doug Lukjanciks is only 14 right? So at 15 you think he could be in the u18s?

That must be really rare for a keeper? Just on the size element and positioning etc...

in terms of the 'hype' around him how does it compare with any outfield players coming through?

sounds good but as you say long way to go before we'll know his first team prospects.
on another note it seems Graham has been given his chance now with the u18s ahead of Nash.

there has been hand wringing previously over him leaving, he was never going to get a chance with our first team while he was here so he clearly made the right decision to leave.

It’s rare but Chelsea played an under 15 a few times last year. Wigan also played one in their title winning team and both those clubs have strong goalkeeping set ups.

(The lad at at Wigan is a big Evertonian as well).

Any reason why we dont seem to approach clubs like Wigan for their u16 age group players and pay a fee?

From what ive seen fees we pay are usually for 17 years and above.

Surely we should be trying to hoover up some of these young players from the lower leagues before they play league football?
