Great post.Forgive me for going off topic a bit but listened to a really interesting piece yesterday on off the ball, the Irish sports equivalent of talksport. The Irish Under 17s are the first team qualified for the European Championship's, apparently a really talented group of players and 17 of the 21 players are all based in the League of Ireland. This was unheard before Brexit as it's making it increasingly difficult for those under 18 to go the usual route to English youth football. The under 19 squad are also on the verge of qualification and many of that panel are based in the league of Ireland also, but the interesting thing some of this squad are at clubs like Inter Milan, Udinese, and AC Milan. I'd like to think we have a large scouting network in Ireland as they really seem to have got some decent youth players. Years ago we have a link up with Home Farm and got a couple of players from there, Richard Dunne being the most well known. Recently Evan Ferguson, Gavin Bazuna and Caoimhin Kelleher have made the step up to premier League level and judging by reports many more have the potential. Bohemians have a young midfielder that just turned 18 apparently that clubs are queuing up to sign, we could be stealing a match on all these. I know Dyche at Burnley had a really big interest in the league of Ireland and often scouted players himself
There’s an interesting article in the SundayTimes today on David Weir , Brighton’s Technical Director , it mentions him actually going out to Argentina to watch Mac Allister before they signed him 4 years ago and the patient way they brought him on. We’re years behind. @Verbal Kint , great post , the article also mentions Evan Ferguson , it looks like they’ve sussed out Ireland too.Great post.
Crazy how Brexit affected traditional path to England. At 18, these players can move freely due to reciprocal agreements between Ireland and UK. There could be a few gems to be had if we have our scouting in place. Very multi-culti some of those sides too.
Dont get me started about our lack of scouting in Latin America compared to the likes of Brighton.
Changed times.

Brighton sign A LOT of these Irish talents. Bagged two just in January O'Mahoney and Mullins.
For a club that has had Ireland's captain playing for a billion years we are shocking at looking for Irish talent.
It's all about thinking outside the box, City,Chelsea just swoop up any young English player and offer them fortunes at a young age.Great post.
