Regardless of where they go though mate, you know it doesn't look well when we cant keep hold of the ones with potential when it looks like there should be a straight run for him to the first team if he knuckled down the next 18 months or so.

That's just it though who comes through the youth team and actually makes it to the first team. Gordon the exception, before that Tom Davies, the rest that play are bought in. Liverpool have countless star players bought into their team, but they still play youngsters in the team from time to time. There seems to be no or hardly any natural progression, we even play two goalkeepers on the bench !
