A run out for the youngsters on Merseyside...
The Reserves enjoyed a visit to Finch Farm this afternoon to take on an Everton team based mainly around their U21 squad, but with a couple of more experienced players thrown in for good measure.
Andy Morrell took the opportunity to give a run out to lads who have not seen much action in recent weeks and the likes of Jos Mayebi, Kyle Parle, Steve Tomassen, Robbie Evans, Jay Colbeck, Theo Bailey-Jones, Adrian Cieslewicz and Rob Ogleby all played.
The match ended 4-1 to the home side, although the Welshmen created enough chances to have got a bit closer to the Blues.
In a practice match that was played over three 30 minute periods, we were a little short on substitutes, while Everton were able to rotate more freely.
As it was we scored our goal from the penalty spot, thanks to Rob Ogleby, while conceded twice direct from impressive free kicks.
It was a good exercise all round and as always the squad were well looked after by the staff at Everton.
Next Monday the Reserves will be travelling up to Blackburn Rovers for another friendly before the busy Christmas period starts in earnest.
