Everton Youth Teams Thread

That’s amazing that we’ve signed 7 players in 2024 , some exciting prospects there. Some players missing that featured at u18 , Billington, Amari Moses , think he’s only now u16.
The size of some of then too . If Loney is really 6 foot 3 ins there a few his size as well
Both going into U16s. Think the only kid we mightve lost against our will was the one at Newcastle

Yep. Think we pinched Louis Poland off Liverpool at the same time. Also a LB
Ah, I was wondering where we got someone with a Scouse accent from so recently.
It’s hard to know the ins and outs . I assumed that as the kid who went to Newcastle went early that we’d released him as , I think, they’re still under a contract even at u16 until June 30.
All in all we seem to have done pretty well with incomings and no major starlets departing as in other seasons 🤞

…I suppose it’s a way of circumnavigating the lack of talent in the Academy. I don’t mind the strategy at all, especially if we’re not solely picking up youngsters rejected by other clubs.

Loney is a fascinating acquisition given his size and age. Looking forward to following how he does.

Indeed, it suggests that only 5 players from the u16s we had this time last year were deemed to be good enough for a Scholarship, although it appears that a couple of players we let go have been picked up by other clubs. It also suggests that our scouting network , locally and further afield is working better. Time will tell. We often get over excited but reality is few will make it to be PL regulars, 2 doing so would be fantastic. I think it was the Gordon/ Simms year when we last produced 2 PL starters from the same Scholar year, and I’m not sure they ever played together in the PL.
