Everton Youth Teams Thread

article in daily fail about united wanting to sign him
can't say i've ever heard his name mentioned alongside our suposed best prospects ?
what type of player is he ?
He's a tough tackling defensive midfielder, lots of energy , no nonsense type - Google his red card in an under 18 derby a couple of years ago. I don't quite share Eggs enthusiasm for him and wouldn't rate him in my top7 of our young players but he's done well this season in an unspectacular kind of way .He's more in the Ledson/Davies /Walsh type mould rather than the Dowell/Evans type if that makes sense . I'm surprised at this level of interest in him but good luck to him, he's not out of contract for 18 months yet so it will be interesting to see if we upgrade his contract. He's the type who'd add some backbone to Utds u21s if that's what they need. Maybe another Joey Barton in the making.

United supposedly being interested in Williams seems a little random, I would have thought they'd be after someone like Ledson if they wanted a midfielder or one of the younger players like Davies or Evans.

Would be interesting to see how he does when he ends up going on loan somewhere.

He also looks to be a good passer of the ball. When I've seen him play he's made some excellent long range through balls.

Time to bump this thread into 2016, u18s play City on Saturday and u21s play them Monday. With the recent loans it will be interesting to see who is starting in these games, maybe some coming back from injury who have disappeared off the radar like Pennington, Jones and Antonee Robinson. Maybe a chance for Shayne Lavery to shine in Brewster's absence .

And of course maybe a chance for youngsters like Holgate, Kenny, Dowell to get into the FA cup squad . I find it bizarre that at times our average age of players on the pitch is younger than the ave age on the bench, and I'll be disappointed if we start with a bunch of 2nd teamers who can't quite make a regular spot, with a bench full of regulars just in case we need to bring them on. While I wouldn't currently start or bring on any of our youngsters in a PL match, this could be just the right occasion to inject some youthful energy into our team.

So other than the FA Cup you cant see anyone able to come in for coleman while he is injured?

I think our U18 team won't be as impressive with all the players moved up to the U21s or sent out on loan. We only need to finish in the top 4 to get to the next stage so it's likely that we won't see a full strength U18 team unless we come close to falling out of the top 4.

Could galloway do a job at right back as a stop gap measure?or is browning still injured?

......I think Browning has a long term injury, Galloway is very left sided and might actually play ahead of Baines. I'd like to see him play a youngster and I suppose Holgate is the obvious one. Coleman will be out for a month so there's a gap to be filled after the Cup game but I fear he may put Stones in there.

Nope.
The obvious ones, Holgate and Kenny are too inexperienced to come into a PL game as cover for Coleman at the moment. Gerri couldn't provide sufficient cover for them , Besic is playing great but by his own admission is not 100% yet and would struggle to cover for a young right back against a PL side. Jags will need time to get fully fit , Baines is getting there , and the bottom line is we've leaked goals in the PL of late - not currently the right environment to be pitching in Holgate or Kenny. Pennington and Geraint Jones seemed to have been out injured recently.
Stick them in the squad, give them a chance in the FA cup and we could be surprised at how well they do as per Browning/Galloway.

Browning is out for the season and Galloway is left sided.
Ya i know galloways left sided just wondering as a stop gap measure.im right footed but always played left back and he has the experience of playing there but i suppose theres alot more at stake for everton than my sunday league team:)
