This is what will wind me up this Saturday, Niasse will be back on the bench, but once again won't get any game time because he's 'not ready' but we have a lad in Dowell who deserves a run - out in the first team, but won't get a look - in because of Martinez.

Something Barkley sorely lacks.

To be fair he picks the ball up and the only player ahead of him is Rom and he's usually surrounded by defenders. Booby brown shoes doesn't appear to encourage off the ball movement.

Dowell reminds me of Pienaar. He knows when to do those little flicks and tricks and when to release the pass

In some ways Dowell's injury back in August may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. He said when he came back that he'd work on developing himself physically , not going to be Ross size but it will have helped him a wee bit. At 18 his path was likely a League 2 club or wherever. We know we've got another diamond on our hands , it will please me immensely if he makes the first team this season , but if not at least we have something to look forward to for next.

Should really get a chance in our remaining games considering our league position as the lad is clearly quality.

Very rare that a player can score goals from 25 yards and further on such a regular basis.
