It's further out than 25 yards - unless I was getting carried away by its brilliance!!

We don't, because he isn't in the first team squad, so he's not a first team option.
What aren't you getting about this? When he's in the first team squad, then we can talk about him seriously. As it stands, he just needs to be progressed to the squad first before talking about him as any sort of alternative.

Based on the way he's got these lads playing I'd have no problem giving Unsworth the caretakers role till the end of the season. They all worked for each other, pressed Leicester all over the park and played some lovely crisp, quick football.
Really enjoyed this game, it was a very good team performance with an outstanding performance from Dowell. He's come on a lot physically since I last saw him live. You won't see a better hat trick than this. He always had time and space, his awareness is superb. He's not the finished article but he should be getting some playing time between now and the end of season. I think he actually maybe Spanish!!
Putting Dowell to one side there were good performances all round. Pennington looks too good for this level, I don't think he'd let you down in the first team. Connolly played well at centre half and at left back. Davies was very good in midfield, looks to have a bit of everything. Williams played well but looked better when he got pushed a bit further forward in the second half. Jones played well on the right. Foulds looks like he has something about him, he played well at left back. Evans is only young he struggled up front and looked better when he dropped back to his natural position at no 10. It will be interesting to see what he looks like in 12-18 months time.
Looking at this I'd have Pennington, Connolly, Davies, Dowell and maybe Williams involved in the first team squad till the end of the season. But overall we've got some great lads here and a few of them have a chance. Factor in the lads on loan and the future looks bright just hope we have a manager who'll give some of them a chance.

I'm advocating him (and Davies/Connolly etc. to be honest) being moved into the first team squad - game time can follow from that if possible. They are then first team options; right now, they are not, because they are not in the first team squad, and therefore can't be assessed as a first team option.

Barkley has a great vision of the back half of the field. If he played facing forward just imagine what he could see!
No it's not. 1+1 =2 makes sense , your posts don't. You need to go and read / re read Catch 22 then you would understand why people are laughing at your logic "They are not first team options because they are not in the first team" is classic Catch 22 , so according to you they can only be an option if they are in the first team, but they can't get in the first team unless they are first team options. Haha, thanks mate it's made me laugh anyway.

They're not considered a first team option if they're not in the first team squad. That's why they call it a "first team squad". The clue is in the name.
Dowell is in the development teams. Until he's in the first team squad, no fan should call him a viable alternative to anything in the first team squad. Once he's there, he is.
That's not my logic, it's common bloody sense.
I know, if the first team played football like the U21 did tonight we'd be laughing!!

We definitely need someone like De Boer who'll bring through some of these young lads.
Well four wins on the trot now and 3rd position consolidated so far. But Chelsea away a week tonight in the final game, and they may have to win that too to keep 3rd. A big contrast to getting 3 points from the first 5 games of the season.
