Nice article there. I've posted the bit from that article, which to me really stands out. He's talking about taking the final penalty in the European championship for England U17s:
"Walking up to take the penalty, I was confident to be honest," Kenny remembers. "I knew where I was going to go, so I just thought to myself to stick with that spot and if the goalkeeper saves it, he saves it.

"For the previous two weeks we'd been practicing penalties in training, so I was confident I could do it and buzzing I could get the winner."
Now that is the epitome of a winning mentality. This guy has got everything in his locker to make it but that attitude will be the thing that makes the difference in my opinion.

Enjoyed watching Rhino's little video on Kenny; seems to really believe he's ready for more first-team action and from what we've seen I do too. We need more scousers in the team and especially those with some heart in defence.

I'm not sure if I'm having a deja vu or just missing a betting coup but didn't they announce that Anthony Gorst's back heel for the u10s won it?
And did we ever figure out if Manasse Mampala , who scored one of the goals and featured in our u18 squads at the end of the season , has signed for us from Bradford City or was just a trialist?

Is that definitely going to happen? It's good for the U21s but I also feel a bit sorry for the lower league clubs.

I read somewhere Unsworth was planning for it, but can't find the article. I think it was on the OS as well. Depending on the rules imposed on the U21s I think lower league clubs would be infavour for it. I would say if we got drawn at home, Goodison must be used not finch farm or Southport.

i think he said he was planning for possibility but nothing has been agreed

They get more money from going to Goodison through ticket sales than finch farm or Southport.

It would be good if they promoted it like a proper Everton cup game but just played U21 players and not the first team.
