Everton Youth Teams Thread

EXACTLY!!!

He is 100% a short term manager who focuses on the next game and not the long term. Usually gone within 2 seasons (mostly through sackings but ho hum)

Pennington is an odd one as he came from nowhere after impressing on loan. The other two i hope (plus kenny and connolly) learn as much as possible in the next two years and give the manager something to think about.
Don't you like Koeman? You never said.

Good move for Grant to go to Ipswich, plenty of game time and imo the perfect place to be.

I said around this time last year that Garbutt would have been perfect for a loan move to Ipswich and particularly McCarthy compared to moving to Fulham who i didn't rate and had massive doubts about the manager (who got sacked). Reason for this is simple, McCarthy is one of those managers who is made for the championship, he get's the league, he understand what it takes to get results and most importantly he works on players defensively and tactically in order to make his sides as hard to beat as possible.

That will do Grant wonders this season and Garbutt could do with joining him or a team similar just to have a hope of getting his career back on track.

Solid performance at Cables. Very much built on a very well organised defence with the ability to burst forward and grab a goal on the counter. Spent a lot of the 2nd half in their own box - not penned in but just comfortable, with the lead, to absorb and counter.

Can't read too much into full-time pro's against an amateur team where half the players have probably done a days work before the game but they can only beat what's in front of them.
