Everton Youth Teams Thread

I know he's not technically an Everton player this season but Galloway played 90 mins for the under 21s in their 5-0 win against Bosnia this afternoon . Really good game to watch and I was surprisingly impressed by Grealish. Tammy Abraham looks good too.

Abraham has been very impressive in the England set up for a few seasons now, probably the outstanding forward of his age group, think he's u 20 playing up a year.
Did Holgate get on ?

As an aside rather than start a new post, I stumbled upon Steven Kinsella on the bench for Ireland U19s today, he's out on loan at St Patricks in Ireland .

He is yes. Holgate didnt get on. Iorfa got a bad knock second half but stayed on.

No doubt about it, quick feet, speed of thought, vision etc. If Grealish had shown any of these attributes he wouldn't be struggling to get a game in a side near the bottom of the championship.
He never impressed me when we played Villa and never really understood the hype surrounding him (in football terms I mean, not his other antics). However he surprised me yesterday for the under 21s. The opposition weren't great in fairness, but the vision and passing ability he showed were really top drawer. I'm not saying we should go out and buy him, but I'd certainly be having him watched regularly. The performance he put in yesterday was just the sort we desperately need from a playmaking midfielder.

I always really liked him at Villa. He always looked like he had time on the ball and was never rushed. He had lots of other attributes too but that really stood out to me.

His career is going nowhere. I am not sure whether I would take a punt either but there's a very talented player in there.

Not seen much of him to be fair. Only when he played us and I was never over impressed. Absolutely outstanding yesterday however. He was very comfortable on the ball, but it was his eye for a pass, coupled with excellent delivery, that impressed me. Bit like Wilshire in style you could say.

As you say though. He comes with a lot of baggage.

Well done Beni

Looked promising every time I've seen him

Great stuff, a two year contract that will give him time to develop further . He's certainly capable of playing regular u23 football, particularly alongside Williams or Walsh but tough competition for places. To loan out or not to loan out....? He has the style and physique, hard to tell if he'll progress gradually over two seasons into a good player or, as I'm hoping have a talent spurt towards the end of the season . Back in July he was one of my 5 to get PL minutes this season , he's got a long way to go yet but who knows , come May...
