Everton Youth Teams Thread

Interesting seeing Liam Walsh training with the first team in the pictures published today. (Or is that a regular thing? I think Dowell, Davies and Holgate usually do.)

Although he is not strictly youth any more, Browning must be getting close to fitness now as well if he 'resumed light training' a few weeks back.

Walsh has been training with first team a while I think. There was a photo a few weeks ago with Rom having an arm around his shoulder which was quite amusing due to their difference in height.

Great stuff, a two year contract that will give him time to develop further . He's certainly capable of playing regular u23 football, particularly alongside Williams or Walsh but tough competition for places. To loan out or not to loan out....? He has the style and physique, hard to tell if he'll progress gradually over two seasons into a good player or, as I'm hoping have a talent spurt towards the end of the season . Back in July he was one of my 5 to get PL minutes this season , he's got a long way to go yet but who knows , come May...
Really like this kid. Out of all our youngsters I think Beni and Evans have most about them to succeed. Dont think he'll break through this season. He's younger than Davies and Walsh who are both ahead of him. He'll play a few U23s thus season but mainly U18s I reckon as Walsh tries to build winning mentality within the club. Depends on the loan policy in January I reckon.

...my first glimpse was in the Dallas tournament where he was a stand out, particularly in the first game when the team failed to perform. He's continued to progress so fingers crossed for the boy, I know lots of us on here really like him.

Beni reminds me a lot of Gueye in the senior team. There was a lot of chat about him as an under 16 and he made a bit of a slow start as a 1st year scholar. But the end of that year though he was taking a leading role.

You can see why Ledson was allowed to move on. You currently have Walsh and Davies alongside tis lad who look more advanced. There's also Joe Williams who Unsworth rates very highly. It will be interesting to see who will play is central midfield. You can also see, when they are all fit this under 23's has great potential to win most games. It will be interesting to see who gets a place out of Williams and Beni though, as they are similar types of player.

Baningime needs to stay in u18's in my opinion make that team as strong as possible. Next season he would be in the u23 squad as Williams will either leave to find 1st team football or be loaned out to see if he can cut it. I also like the look of Evans, Feeney and Lavery from that particular age group.

Like I said I think he'll play mostly for the 18s with the occasional game for the 23s when Unsy mixes things up a bit. Plus the 23s have a lot of competitions this year. Same with Evans and Feeney, but all 3 are clearly not out of place in the 23s.

You could see the marked difference in the U18s performances/results when those 3 play. Suppose it's like having Williams, Gueye and Lukaku out of the first 11.
