Everton Youth Teams Thread

He was a regular with Tom Davies and Janes Yates ( Right Back) through the England youth set up , but seemed to fade out towards the end of last season fir the u18s. There was a time when I thought Donahue , a similar style, looked the better player. So he's done better than Yates, presumably he's still at Crewe U23s.
Statistically if you haven't made a first team appearance for us as a teenager you're unlikely to make it. But plenty of players come through later elsewhere . You could also say if you come out of the u18s and can't get U23s starts then you're also unlikely to make it , but there's a whole bunch of last year's u18 still to play U23s so hard to tell. But we had such a talented crop last year. Good luck to him , it's hard to see him becoming a PL player but he's got a great contract to help him on his way.

Can anyone give an update of matty foulds?
Just been thinking with the way Holgate is impressing are there any signs foulds could be another steal from lower leagues? Not sure if he's been playing much.

In an interview last week he said " a little injury to the ankle " and about 8 weeks out. His left leg was in one if those huge knee to foot boots .

Hope he gets another chance to start a match this season, even if it's a meaningless game at the end of the season. Any injury stinks, but ~20 minutes into your first PL start? Rough.

Comment from the Echo down at the game tonight:

"Chances for Matty Foulds and Conor McAleny tonight. McAleny’s long-term Goodison future looks far from certain but Foulds only joined last January and is given an opportunity to force his way back into Unsworth’s thinking. Calum Dyson starts up front at a ground he has scored before. In August 2015, on loan at Stockport, Dyson bagged the only goal in a 1-0 win over AFC Telford United."

Really think they're clutching at straws with McAleny and I'm shocked he's still here when people like Ledson and Holland are sold off.
