Everton Youth Teams Thread

Yeah, disappointing but not the same strength in depth we've had in the previous 3 years and it shows when the better players are not playing. And if we look at individual development the three who have played regularly at U23s level, Morgan Feeney , Antony Evans, Beni Baningime, offer the most promise.
With the pressure off the u18s its also a chance for some others to be considered for the U23s like Fraser Hornby and Alex Denny.

...Evans seems to be struggling for game time on loan which is a disappointment. Personally, I think our best youngsters should be making a very positive impact if they have any chance of coming through here (although I am reminded that Barkley wasn't a regular at Sheffield Wednesday).

it was leeds barkley struggled at but only cos that tit colin warnock was the mananger

...I heard Warnock talking about that and he said Moyes had advised him that Barkley couldn't be trusted from a defensive responsibility perspective. Warnock said points were vital and he couldn't trust the boy when the opposition had the ball.
Highlights the mismanagement of the formative years of his career these are multi millionaire coaches who have to accept it's part of there job to coach players on improving both strengths & weaknesses. Yet two highly respected British coaches simply left Barkley to his own devices & didn't put the required effort in with him to improve.

There not alone allardyce Hodgson right at home with these boys yet all we hear is British coachs being overlooked for top jobs laughable

was correct that kenny and pennington have gone, plus hewelt and DCL must be back in training cos hes away too.
It'll be interesting to see who plays in the cup match as we're pretty thin in terms of U23 defenders, maybe Foulds moved to CB alongside Feeney. Somebody posted something about Bainbridge trialling at Stoke, not sure if he's around , maybe Yarney too. I saw James Yates on the bench for the ManU game so he's back from Crewe and I guess likely to cover for Kenny.I'm presuming they all fly back Saturday and are available for the U23s game on the Monday. Good to see DCL back in training and will presumably work his way back via the U23s giving them a boost.

It's been 5 years since I moved back to Liverpool but one is near Ham, another is Ascot (or off Sun Lane by Hampton Court) and the third is Dulwich Hamlet's ground.
Pedro moves a lot quicker than I did.

Ah cool, prob played on a couple of those myself then, tho I didn't recognise them.

With such a ringing endorsement from Moyes you wonder why Warnock even took the lad on loan at all.
