Everton Youth Teams Thread

Just watched the Broadhead goal and if you watch Dowell after he plays him in, he just stops. Cant see Koeman being the type to allow players to do that. Its just natural with some, look how Davies jumped back up for his City goal.

Why are the home games in Southport? Do they really expect many people to go all that way for the youth teams? There must be somewhere closer that they can play at?

Where were those? I haved played in that area for years, and am currently playing for a Vets team
It's been 5 years since I moved back to Liverpool but one is near Ham, another is Ascot (or off Sun Lane by Hampton Court) and the third is Dulwich Hamlet's ground.
Pedro moves a lot quicker than I did.

damn, ah well. Another season of good development from the boys, with an 18 year old now a starting first team member. Results are all good and well, but at that age is more about individual player development imo. The same starting XI won't ever be a starting XI for everton's first team, for example, only a couple will make it with us and most will make it as pro footballers, which is the point of the academy.

Yeah, disappointing but not the same strength in depth we've had in the previous 3 years and it shows when the better players are not playing. And if we look at individual development the three who have played regularly at U23s level, Morgan Feeney , Antony Evans, Beni Baningime, offer the most promise.
With the pressure off the u18s its also a chance for some others to be considered for the U23s like Fraser Hornby and Alex Denny.

exactly, give some of the younger lads a few games against players closer to manhood, slowly phase the better ones in in preparation for next season. It's a continuous cycle and why i enjoy reading this thread.

I think most people will say this years under 18's/17's are nowhere near as strong as the two years. Thats not to say we won't get players through but they are not as good. However we have seen quite a few under 16's involved, so I wonder if there are a few to keep an eye on there?
