Everton Youth Teams Thread

so if the RS win, that hands us the title and then they have to give us a guard of honour when we play the next (and final) game of the season. Wonder if their fans will turn up in their drones and boo whoever scores like they did in 95? We'll still win it our own way anyway :)

Should have been given some game time this season in my opinion. Hopefully he'll get some before the end of the season.
Honestly, I was crying out for him to play last season and thought he would force his way in this year but he was hugely disappointing the first half of the year. This was down to a few things with him getting the hump that Koeman didn't fancy him after pre season and also with him growing another few inches but I don't really think he warrants a place yet. Walsh is the one that I'm desperate to get game time but he has so much competition in front of him. Dowell is currently a match of the day player with a great highlights reel but doesn't affect games as much as he should. It's no use him looking brilliant for 5 mins a game if it's the equilavent of playing with 10 men for the other 85 and that has too often been the case.
I keep saying it but in terms of outright talent the lad should have been playing first team two years ago but considering how good his football brain is he seems to lack something innate. He can tackle and chase back but he prefers not too. That just isn't going to work with Koemans ethos.

Only three Dallas Cup matches today, I guess the others were rained out. Results:

Group A: RSL 1-3 MUFC
Group B: Maccabi Haifa 0-1 Everton
Group B: FCD 1-1 Monterrey

So Everton go through if they win and FCD draws. Seems quite unlikely that.

Either that or they need to pile it on Monterrey to make up for their -4 GD and get the wild card spot.

Loving the different views on here. For me it was Besic going off that made the difference. Walsh then came into his own , tidying up , closing down space and Charsley doing the unspectacular stuff as ever. Having said that nice to see Mo back. Thought our defenders all did a sound job too, yet another different centre back combination , you have to say that Unsy dies an amazing job getting them to defend properly whatever the combinations are.
Pretty much sums up what I saw that mate. All the defence did well, thought Feeney looked great with his reading, positioning not to mention he puts a good hard tackle in.
Charsley made the difference because it allowed others like Walsh to play in their normal position and the team just seemed to get further up the pitch 2nd half forcing errors from Spurs. Two absolute quality strikes as well.

...as I posted in the first half, Dowell was bound to have a moment in the game where his quality shone. For me it wasn't the goal it was the subtle and sublime little pass he played behind their back four. He delivers that pass that only quality footballers can.

I expect the reason he hasn't stepped up is because he goes missing in games. He has the ability to influence matches but you often only see him fleetingly. Good players tend to play better with good players so he could improve for the step up but he might not put himself in the game enough for RK.

Think the big difference was that he switched it around tactically. He went 4-3-3, pushed our fullbacks forward, moved Dowell more into the middle & pushed Dowell, DCL & Lookman onto their defenders who couldn't play it out from the back. As a result we dominated the midfield & Spurs didn't get a look in.
