Everton Youth Teams Thread

think i read someone, somewhere (maybe on here) say that lookman was a bit homesick. who knows if its true but maybe take him a bit longer to settle in after whirlwind start.

Everton Under-23s took another step closer to the Premier League 2 title with a 4-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park.

The result means David Unsworth’s side require two points from their final two games of the season to guarantee the league crown.

After a first half of few clear-cut opportunities Ademola Lookman bundled the ball home just after the hour following a marauding run by centre-back Brendan Galloway.

Substitute Bassala Sambou then doubled the advantage with a stunning 25-yard drive into the top corner of the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street net seven minutes later.

The drama was not over, though, with the visitors pulling one back with 19 minutes remaining when Kazaiah Sterling nodded home from close range.

But the Toffees restored their two-goal advantage four minutes later via another stunning long-range effort, this time from Kieran Dowell.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin then sealed the victory in the closing minutes, slotting home into an empty net after a mishit clearance by Spurs goalkeeper Tom Glover.

Another positive from the evening was the first appearance of Muhamed Besic, who returned to action after more than eight months out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury sustained in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial in pre-season.

The Bosnian international played 45 minutes before being withdrawn at half-time.

looks like it's the same fella who was posting the goals last year LL who stands by himself behind the goal lol Good win that!

Superb u23 2nd half performance as well with a couple of beautifully taken goals. All in all a good night's work for the 2 sides ;)
Yep, kept following him on twitter as he is a character! Iirc he was a pretty vocal Brewster fan club member last year as well, so happy he scored for him as deserves it after enduring yesterdays game - I bailed at 4!

Yeah Jeff Lampkin, I've got him on Twitter too, we should encourage him to post here ..... but maybe not much more mileage left in Dallas for us.

I'm in my 30s and I'm proper homesick. Why can't anyone in this country make decent pizza? Surely it's not that hard. I refuse to believe it's that hard.

Anyway, I'm sure Lookman will be alright after the summer once he's able to get comfortable living in a new city.

Its true mate. I read it on an Albion fan forum. Few lads saying that he crossed the half way line far too often and he wouldn't stay in the team if he carried in doing that. Got taken off half way through the next game and didn't play again. The Albion fans were made up with him by the way. It was Pulis they were having a dig at.

As for tonights game, thought it was very entertaining. Spurs are a good team, press hard with some very skilful players. Perhaps they ran out of steam a bit in the second half as the game opened up and we deserved our win, but 4-1 was a bit flattering. DCL deserved his goal for some really excellent hold up play. Shuld have scored that header in the first half though. Two great goals from Dowell and Sambou, the latter I thought stretched them when he came on and they couldn't cope with his pace. Good run out for Besic too who I thought controlled what I saw of the first half.

to be fair, they can hardly argue with the job pulis has done there, 8th or 9th is the best they could hope for seeing as the top 7 are in a different league in all honesty, with leicester put back in their place ( i think, i'm confused as to what is their actual place at this moment), but i really like galloway, think he's very talented.
