Evertons Net Spend under David Moyes

Correct, the Sunderland deal is unreal compared to ours.

I'm sick of seeing stories on Newsnow from Bluekipper, with people saying " Give Bill credit " because we made a few signings.

Signings that we were desperate for and needed because our sqaud has been decimated for the past few seasons.

I dont want to sound like im defending the board, because im not a kenwright sympathiser and Everton is run quite amateurish at times, but they may have gone for the chang deal to broaden our brand internationally in south east asia which has an appetite for the premier league. Maybe that international exposure is worth it?

Only the huge Sunderland deal is with 'Invest Africa' with equal international exposure.

I think it's a bit of a myth that teams make large amounts of money from international markets (the top 3/4 sides in Europe aside) other than the international TV deals that are split equally anyway.

Ah right still thought they were with that tombola, no excuse really then.

but you have to ask with moyes spending very little, why arent we lloking better financially, most other clubs would of been debt free if they had run the way we have been for the last decade, but we still seem to be owing banks money.

Wages have soared under Moyes.

The 'Invest in Africa' which is tied to shady oil companies abusing resources and people/s native to Africa?
No better, if there ever was a debate, than the Standard Chartered-farce.

MG,

Has this taken into account the current window?

If not then we must be around the break even point as we didn't spend anywhere near the full rodwell fee?

So has revenue from the premier league broadcasting. It's about to soar again from next season. If we manage to keep a tight reign on wages we should be clearing our debts and in a position to invest in infrastructure.

Yeah I'm aware that Sunderlands sponsors are controversial but we are football club, not UNICEF. Do we know all about the business practices of Chang? Doubtful.

I appreciate the club may be reluctant to deal with such a group - but still doesn't really explain why Newcastle can get a ten million per year deal with Virgin and we can't.

When players and agents get their own way we'll be back to square one. European football is in desperate need of a wage cap, its ridiculous.

The easy and relatively obvious answer (one which has been provided by the club in fact) is that in 2009 due to the World Economic Crisis banks either stopped lending money or significantly increased the cost of lending. In short the club could no longer support it's loss making operation through ever increased lending and had to start paying back it's debts.

We spent more than the Rodwel money this year, but then we sold a lot more than just Rodwell this year so we still turned a big profit.
